Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the monkey's role in the "Hooked on Monkey Fonics" system?

Answer: keeping the beat

The monkey hopped out of the box and set up his drums so that he could keep the beat while the cassette lead Cartman through his lesson. The cassette also included instructions about who to call if the monkey "arrived in the box dead."
2. What word did Cartman get in the Spelling Bee?

Answer: chair

He looked over to the side of the stage where his monkey was set up, but the drumming animal offered no support. Cartman spelled it "C-H-A-R-E" and was of course disqualified!
3. When Mark joined the other kids at South Park Elementary, he arrived with what for his own protection?

Answer: huge plastic hamster ball

He rolled into the room in a giant yellow hamster ball, and Cartman asked if he had "some kind of John Travolta disease." Mr. Garrison encouraged the students to ignore the obvious and focus on their studies.
4. What "punishment" did the boys impose on Mark in the playground?

Answer: duct taped him to a bench

Craig and Butters approached Mark and told him to get out of the hamster ball. Mark hesitantly complied, and all the boys swarmed him and taped him to a bench! The other boys were clearly annoyed because Mark seemed to be such a know-it-all.
5. What instrument did Kyle play beneath Rebecca's window?

Answer: guitar

He'd composed a whole song about his attraction to the girl, and sang it below her window in an attempt to woo her. Rebecca, unfamiliar with the basics of human interaction because of having been home-schooled, misunderstood the situation and threw some money down into the empty guitar case.
6. What did Mr. Cotswolds tell the other fathers he liked to drink?

Answer: wine coolers

Mr. Cotswolds had gone to the bar to urge the other fathers to get their sons to leave his kids alone, but the other dads didn't take too kindly to the different perspective on child-rearing. When Jimbo offered Mr. Cotswolds a beer and Mr. Cotswolds proclaimed that he preferred wine coolers, it seemed to be the final straw.

The dads all worked together and duct taped Mr. Cotswolds to a bench in the bar before going home for the night.
7. When Rebecca invited Kyle up to her bedroom, what game did they play?

Answer: doctor

When Mark told his parents where his sister was, they ran upstairs, yelling, "Don't play that perverted game!" When they burst through the door, they found that Rebecca took the game very literally; she had a small jigsaw in her hand and was cutting away Kyle's hair and hat so as to "extricate a r-region in his cerebral cortex, or risk ih-nfection to the synaptic responses." The Cotswolds seemed a bit reassured, but nonetheless told Rebecca it was time to start her lessons. Before Rebecca followed them, Kyle had a chance to ask her to the dance:
Kyle: "Rebecca, there's this dance, see, the South Park Elementary Bay of Pigs Memorial Dance, and um, now I was wondering, ih- if you wanna go."
Rebecca: "Hhm. Alright, I guess I'll go."
Kyle: "You will?"
Rebecca: "I guess. Are you gonna go? Maybe I'll see you there."
Kyle: "No, no. I mean, go with me."
Rebecca: "Oh, I'm sure Father will give me a ride."
8. Where did Kyle and Rebecca kiss?

Answer: flower garden

Kyle returned to Rebecca's house to try to get through to her. He asked her why she was being home-schooled and told her that she was missing out on love. Then they decided to try kissing, which Rebecca seemed to really enjoy. After a few very enthusiastic smooches, Rebecca agreed to go to the dance with Kyle.
9. What kind of music did the band Dio play at the dance?

Answer: metal

Dio was fronted by Ronnie James Dio, who had previously been with Black Sabbath. The kids seemed a little confused by the music, but did their best to rock out to the beat.
10. How did Mark attain coolness?

Answer: beat up Kyle

When Rebecca showed up at the dance made over as a whore, kissing boys and generally acting out, Mark was furious and focused all his blame on Kyle. Mark attacked him, swearing and punching and the other kids looked on in awe. After Randy Marsh broke up the fight and took Kyle away, Butters, Craig and Stan approached the home-schooled kid and vied for his companionship. Mark seemed pleased to have finally captured the respect and admiration of his peers.
