When the doctor assured him that he'd get "all the ice cream" he could eat after the surgery, Cartman perked up and agreed to "tough it out." After the surgery, the doctor had to tell Cartman that he'd been accidentally infected with the "AIDS virus" and did his best to make it up to the boy with ice cream! Cartman, of course, couldn't be won over with simply desserts!

Cartman was upset to see the low turnout; only a few tables in the room were filled! The waitress informed him, "AIDS benefits aren't as popular as they used to be. AIDS was more the '80s/'90s disease. It's all about cancer now." Cartman was only more infuriated to learn that Elton John couldn't make the benefit and Jimmy Buffett would be playing in his stead.

Butters felt a little unsure about helping, but Cartman insisted that Kyle had to "be taught a lesson" by showing him "how it feels to be laughed at."

Cartman had a pretty extreme idea of how to teach Kyle a lesson, using a syringe to draw blood out of his own arm and then drop it into Kyle's mouth. Cartman's nefarious plan worked, and Kyle was soon diagnosed with HIV! Kyle's doctor seemed convinced that Kyle had contracted the virus through sex, but Kyle knew exactly how he'd gotten sick!

Sure enough, Kyle ran to Cartman's house and started demolishing all his toys. When Kyle went for the Xbox, Cartman pleaded with him, insisting he was working on a cure.

First they tried to use the AIDS card to get free tickets, but the airline employee told them that they only offered occasional free tickets for cancer patients. The boys went to another airline, where they successfully got seats by claiming to have cancer.

When the flight attendant tried to offer some sympathy, Cartman announced that cancer wasn't nearly as bad as having AIDS. The flight attendant disagreed, saying, "I don't know. These days I think I'd rather have AIDS than cancer." Cartman was infuriated, and shooed her away!

Answer: "I'm not just sure, I'm HIV-positive."

The third time Kyle heard Cartman use the phrase pushed him over the edge:
Kyle: "Will you stop it with that? What part of this is funny to you?"
Cartman: "Kyle, we need to try to find a-"
Kyle: "What part of being infected with a deadly disease do you find funny?"
Cartman: "I don't think it's funny, Kyle."
Kyle: "Then stop saying you're not just sure, you're HIV-positive! This isn't funny, AIDS isn't funny, dying isn't funny, so shut [...] up!"
Cartman: "Well excuse me, Kyle, for trying to keep some optimism, you know? I mean, sometimes when things... seem their darkest you just need to try and stay... HIV-positive. But if you wanna be so HIV-negative all the time, I-"
Kyle: "Knock it off! Right now! This isn't funny! At all!"
Cartman: "Are you sure?"
Kyle: "Yes!"
Cartman: "Are you HIV-positive?"
At that point, Kyle smacked Cartman in the face, putting an end to Cartman's pig-headedness.

They opened the door to Magic's bedroom and were shocked to see piles of cash filling all the free space. Magic explained, "I don't trust banks. I sleep with all my money." Then it occurred to them that it might be the constant exposure to cash that was keeping Magic healthy! They took the idea to a lab and, sure enough, the scientists found that putting cash near infected blood drove the HIV particles away from the white blood cells.

The group speculated that injecting cash directly into the bloodstream might "kill the virus altogether." Cartman offered Kyle up as the guinea pig for the experiment, and Magic offered his cash. Sure enough, after injecting Kyle with concentrated cash, the scientists saw that "cash particles have completely replaced all the HIV in Kyle's blood!"

After the scientists cured Kyle's AIDS, the news got the story quickly, announcing the cure for AIDS to be "about $180,000 shot directly into the bloodstream!" Some thoughtful individual even stopped to tell Nigerians how to cure themselves of AIDS: "You just have to inject yourself with all your cash! Woohoo!" I guess this is just the most literal understanding of the idea of pouring money into finding a cure!
