Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the very first episode, how does Tim first refer directly to Daisy?

Answer: Pickle

When Daisy breaks down in the cafe, Tim says 'Hi Pickle' as they don't introduce themselves until they are just about to visit Marsha's flat.
2. Again from the first episode. What is the name of the scientist who created 'The Bear' in Tim's comic strip?

Answer: Doktor Mandrake

When Daisy pronounces it Doctor, Tim makes a point of it being DoKtor with a 'k'.
3. Several times throughout both series someone asks Brian what sort of thing he does in art. In what order does he always respond?

Answer: Anger, pain, fear, aggression

One of my favourite recurring gags. I don't think the 'fear' section has ever failed to make me laugh. Also in the pain section he actually pricks himself with the pin.
4. Before the party that Tim and Daisy host in episode 2 of the first series. Tim has a phone conversation with Mike about which gun he should bring to the party, which do they eventually decide on?

Answer: Glock 17

Wonderful. While Tim makes his mashed potato volcano we get our first insight into Mike's weapons obsession.
5. In episode 3 of the first series, we see a performance art piece by an old contemporary of Brian's whose name is Vulva. What, however, is her accomplice's name?

Answer: Hoover

Speaking as a drama student I can only hang my head in shame at the sheer accuracy of this episode's foray into the performance art world.
6. In the fourth episode of series 2 where Tim is chasing his portfolio around Darkstar Comics, we find out what the name of Brian's old dog was. And the name was?

Answer: Pom Pom

Pom Pom has a bit part in the first series when Brian relates the tragic story of his exploding under an articulated lorry.
7. What is the second rule of Robot Club?

Answer: No smoking

Great little 'Fight Club' send up here. Look closely in the background in this scene and you'll see The Bluetones are part of the extras in the crowd.
8. What are the three letters painted on the front of Private Iron (Tim and Mike's robot)?

Answer: TFU

Unfortunately I can't mention what it stands for on this website. Oh well. Made me laugh for ages. Go back and watch it cos it's good.
9. In episode 2 of the second series, Bilbo Bagshot describes an instance where he was defending the fantasy genre too vigorously. He once punched a bloke in the face for saying... what?

Answer: 'Hawk the Slayer' was rubbish.

Anyone who says 'Hawk the Slayer' was rubbish deserves said punch in the face.
10. More on the fantasy genre. Which Marvel Super Hero adorns Tim's keyring?

Answer: Wolverine

Seen clearly when Dwayne Bensie hurls them like a girl onto a passing truck.
11. When Tim commits the fatal act that gets him fired from Fantasy Bazaar, what denomination of currency had the small child saved up with to buy a Jar Jar Binks doll?

Answer: 50p

And I quote 'Now I don't care if you've saved up all your 50p's. Take your money, and GET OUT.'
12. What is the name of the shop that time briefly works for before returning to the Fantasy Bazaar?

Answer: Silent Reading

One of my favourite episodes that. Particularly as I too hate 'The Phantom Menace'. Whatever happened to George Lucas?
13. During Daisy's long jobhunt she gets a position at a restaurant in Kentish Town. The name of the restaurant?

Answer: Neo Nachos

Note the way the tacos on the door are arranged to forge the Nazi emblem.
14. At the restaurant in Kentish Town, what was the name of the awful boss there?

Answer: Tina

I don't know the name of this support actress, but she's great and funny.
15. In my favourite moment in both series, the imaginary fight between the three boys after Mike's explanation of the male psyche. Who takes a pretend knife to the head?

Answer: Tim

Absolutely hilarious. It's almost worth buying the DVDs just for the raw footage from this scene. If you have the DVD and haven't watched it, go now, watch. Special features, raw footage!
