Walter Koenig's character was created to appeal to young teenage girls, because of his similar appearance to David Jones from 'the Monkees.' To confirm this answer, please check out 'Inside Star Trek The Real Story' by Solow and Justman Page 343. It is rumored that Roddenberry wanted a Russian on the bridge crew due to criticism the show received from Pravda (the official Soviet Newspaper.)

3. On 'This Side of Paradise,' what planet did this episode revolve around?

Psi MM was the planet in the 'Naked Time' - Talos IV was the planet in 'The Cage' (Pilot), later 'The Menagerie.'

The old man in the episode had the titular line, just before he died. He realizes that they aren't on a planet, but a spaceship or asteroid if you will.

For those of you that chose "Star Trek II: The Undiscovered Country", this was a working title, but the subtitle was actually used for the 6th film in the series.

Many fans started to call the movie Chekov Screams Again because of the scene where Khan put the eels in his and Capt. Terrell's ears. Chekov screamed in Star Trek: The Motion Picture when his hand got in the way of V'gers probe as it scanned his console.
