Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Doctor Bashir is surprised to learn that in times of war, the law falls silent when visiting Romulus with Admiral Ross for a diplomatic conference. In which episode does Julian's talk interest both the chairman of the Tal'Shiar and Section 31?

Answer: Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges

The clues in the question on this one as "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges" translates as "In times of war, the law falls silent".

Starfleet promised to send Dr Bashir to Romulus to deliver a lecture about the Quickening. Chairman Koval of the Tal'Shiar attended, however Deputy Director Sloan of Section 31 was on Romulus as well. Was there an assassination plot afoot or was it an elaborate ploy?
2. In which episode does Odo find himself trying to deal with two Weyouns at the same time whilst Nog makes a series of trades using Chief O'Brien's access code?

Answer: Treachery, Faith, and the Great River

Two stories occurred simultaneously in this episode. One of Weyoun's clones had been killed and his replacement believed that Odo was the only true God. Consequently, he tried to defect.

Back on the station, the Defiant was in urgent need of repair and O'Brien gave Nog his access code to try and obtain it. It was therefore a surprise to the chief when Sisko's desk went missing as did Martok's blood wine!
3. There's a murderer loose on DS9 and the only way to solve it is for Ezri Dax to consult one of her previous hosts... the mentally unstable Joran. In which episode does this happen?

Answer: Field Of Fire

Joran Belar was joined to the Dax symbiont following the death of Torias, however he had a violent personality and had already killed a Doctor who had suggested he was unsuitable for joining.

Following the murder of first Lt. Ilario and then Lt. Commander Vanderweg aboard DS9, Ezri needed to get into the mindset of a killer and Joran was the perfect choice.
4. Whilst travelling back to DS9 in a runabout, Odo and Chief O'Brien encounter one of the other hundred changelings who were sent out into the universe. In which episode does Laas try and tempt Odo away from the station?

Answer: Chimera

Like Odo, Laas was one of the hundred changelings who were sent out into the galaxy by the Founders, however he had not yet made it back to the Great Link.

Laas was played by J.G. Hertzler, who also played the role of General Martok, however in this episode he was credited as Garman Hertzler.
5. Following the loss of his leg in a previous story, Nog moves into the holosuite to live with Vic Fontaine in which episode?

Answer: It's Only A Paper Moon

Although the Federation doctors treating Nog couldn't find any reason why Nog would be experiencing pain in his leg, he insisted it was there and walked with a cane.

Ezri allowed Nog to spend some time in the Vic's holosuite to try and recuperate, however he felt safer in 1962 Vegas than on the station with the war on.
6. It's Dukat, Winn, but not as we know it. In a busy episode, Dukat (disguised as a Bajoran) meets Kai Winn. Benjamin Sisko marries Kasidy Yates and the Breen rescue Worf and Ezri, who subsequently find out that the Breen and the Dominion have formed an alliance. In which episode does all this occur?

Answer: 'Til Death Do Us Part

Unlike other "Star Trek" series, it can be quite tricky to put an episode title to a description, no matter how much information is in the question!

However, only the episode "'Til Death Do Us Part" aired as a part of season 7. "Battle Lines" was a season 1 episode, "The Die Is Cast" formed part of season 3 and "Apocalypse Rising" was the first episode of season 5.
7. If Worf has captured the Grand Nagus and is on a mission to reclaim the station, we must be back in the mirror universe. In which episode must Quark and Rom try to save him?

Answer: The Emperor's New Cloak

Only the Grand Nagus would try to look for business opportunities in the alternate universe, however he is captured and needs Rom and Quark to free him by stealing a cloaking device.

Watching Rom try to work out who the good and bad guys are in the alternate universe is quite amusing.
8. O'Brien's gone missing. Conveniently, this happens to be on the planet where Ezri Dax's family live. In which episode does Ezri reluctantly head home to look for the chief?

Answer: Prodigal Daughter

O'Brien was found relatively quickly due to Ezri's mother's connections. However, it transpired that all was not right either within the family or within the business.

According to the memory-alpha.org website, both the producers and the writers of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" felt that this was the worst episode of the season
9. Rivalry between Captains? Within Starfleet? Surely not. In which episode is the senior staff of DS9 challenged to a "contest of teamwork, courage and sacrifice"?

Answer: Take Me Out To The Holosuite

Captain Solok of USS T'Kumbra was at Starfleet Academy with Captain Sisko. He believed that Vulcans were superior to Humans, but having proved his point, the Vulcan continued to rub Sisko's nose in the dirt by referencing it in the papers he subsequently wrote.

Baseball was Captain Sisko's game, so he'd be able to redress the balance... right?

10. What was the name of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"'s final episode?

Answer: What You Leave Behind

"All Good Things" was the final episode of "The Next Generation", "Endgame" wrapped up "Voyager"'s run and "These Are The Voyages..." completed "Enterprise".

"What You Leave Behind" neatly wrapped up the outstanding storylines concerning the Dominion war and Sisko's role as Emissary to the Bajoran people.
