Their mothers name was Mary. In the pilot episode John shouts her name several times when he hears her screams from upstairs. She is screaming because she realizes it wasn't Sam's father standing beside his crib, and runs back up stairs to confront the demon.

Answer: November 2, 1983

This was when Sam was 6 months old. The night the demon came and killed his mother, which opened a can of worms that the Demon never could have imagined, and spawned some of the greatest hunters to date.

The lake is located in Wisconsin. The reason for the haunting of the lake was because the sheriff and a man named Bill accidentally drowned a boy named Peter when they were kids. They then buried his bike and his body sank to the bottom of the lake. Peter's vengeful spirit was then after the Sheriff and Bill, and once it gets them both, the lake is safe.

Each flight was in the air for 40 minutes, which according to Sam and Dean is "biblical numerology, and the number means death."
