Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Dean told Sam that Bobby was on a supply run, getting "hunter's helper." What was Bobby out shopping for as the episode began?

Answer: Alcohol

Dean called Bobby "a hero" for going out in a bad storm, since they were "officially out of hunter's helper." Dean poured the last drops of a bottle of whisky into his glass before telling Sam about this.
2. Balthazar used a spell to send Sam and Dean into another reality. He compared the danger they were facing to a scene of which well-known movie?

Answer: The Godfather

Balthazar appeared, and began gathering ingredients for a spell. He told the brothers, "You've seen 'The Godfather' right? You know at the end where Michael Corleone sends his men to kill his enemies in one big bloody swoop!" He continued, "Moe Green gets it in the eye, then Don Cuneo gets it in the revolving door . . ." Sam asked why he was talking about the movie, and he replied, "Because we're in it, right now, tonight. And in the role of Michael Corleone, the Archangel Raphael." He then told them Raphael had "put out a hit list on every last Samaritan who helped our dear Cas, including both of you - and SO much more importantly, me." When Virgil showed up, he gave them a key and flung them through a window, where they landed on set.
3. What does the character Misha call his twitter followers?

Answer: Mishamigos

After he encountered Sam and Dean, Misha thought the characters of Jared and Jensen were teasing him. He tweeted, "Hola Mishamigos. J squared got me good. Really starting to feel like one of the guys." Misha the actor has a huge twitter following (over 2.5 million) and sometimes refers to his followers as "minions."
4. What item did Sam and Dean NOT find in Jensen Ackles' trailer?

Answer: Swimming pool

The brothers came upon a trailer with a "J. Ackles" sign. Dean said, "That's fake me. This must be fake mine." Dean was thrilled to find the helicopter in the trailer, and Sam asked, "Who puts a 300 gallon aquarium in a trailer?" That scene provided a fun moment on the blooper reel for the DVD as the actor Jared Padalecki said "twailer" on the first take, to both his and Jensen Ackles' amusement.
5. While in Jensen Ackles' trailer, Dean picked up a "Supernatural Magazine." This magazine was created by the props department specifically for this episode, since there was no actual "Supernatural Magazine."

Answer: False

This was an actual issue of an actual magazine, issue number 11 of "Supernatural Magazine" from August 2009. Dean made fun of Sam's photo on the cover, saying, "Nice 'Blue Steel' Sam." "Blue Steel" refers to the model pose if Derek Zoolander.
6. What item did Sam and Dean NOT find at Jared Padalecki's house?

Answer: Bowling alley

When the brothers walked into the very opulent house, Dean said, "Modest digs, Jay-Z." Sam said, "Wow. I must be the star of this thing." The brothers then spent time taking in everything, Sam asking if he was Dracula, after seeing what looked like a coffin, and Dean replying, "George Hamilton Dracula," once they realized it was a tanning bed.

This reference worked on two levels - first, George Hamilton is known for his tan; and second, the actor played Count Dracula in the movie "Love at First Bite."
7. The actor Jared Padalecki's real life wife played the character's wife in the episode.

Answer: True

Genevieve Cortese Padalecki played the character's wife in the episode. Since the actress had met her future husband while playing the demon Ruby during season 4 of the show, this led to some amusing scenes. Dean freaked out when he saw Ruby in Jared's house.

Then, seeing the paintings of Jared and Genevieve, and the wedding photo on the mantle, he said to Sam, "You married fake Ruby?" This was the real actors' actual wedding photo. Adding to the entertainment, right next to the wedding photo, there was a photo of the alpaca, who could be heard making noise outside during the scene.
8. Which crew members played themselves during "The French Mistake"?

Answer: Lou Bollo

Lou Bollo was the stunt coordinator on "Supernatural." He was the only crew member that played himself. Serge Ladouceur was the director of photography and was played by Art Kitching. Bob Singer was an executive producer and director and was played by Brian Doyle-Murray. Eric Kripke was the creator and was played by Micah Hauptman.
9. How did the character Misha react to the staffer fixing his hair in between takes?

Answer: He shoved her away

The Misha character was very funny. He pushed away a staffer in that scene. Later, he called a staffer "little fella." His reactions to the atrocious acting by Sam and Dean were also classic.
10. What did Sam NOT do while acting like Jared acting like Sam?

Answer: Whacked his head on the door and knocked himself out

The poor character probably wished he could have knocked himself out during the scene, but that is the one thing he did not actually do in the scene. If it was not so funny, it would have been painful to watch him suffer. When the director finally gave up and let them stop, Sam muttered, "Thank God."
11. What did Dean NOT do while acting like Jensen acting like Dean?

Answer: Got fed up and shot his real gun, rather than the prop gun

Fortunately, there was no gun in the scene, or the character may have actually shot someone. As with poor Sam, it was hysterical to watch him try to act, but the viewer also felt sorry for him. During a break, when Sam said, "Who wrote this? Nobody says penultimate," Dean replied, "Gun. Mouth. Now." It was very fortunate Dean did not have a gun.
12. Watching Sam and Dean "act," Bob Singer yelled out, "What is happening? What's happening?" Serge replied, "_______ is happening.'

Answer: An atrocity

Director Bob Singer was so frustrated, having to call "cut" over and over again for a simple scene. When the assistant director suggested that they could do something experimental, piecing together the bits of them saying all the lines, Singer said, "Whatever. Season six." Later, Singer had a conversation with the two "actors," telling them, "Guys - You can't come to work on poppers. And smuggle kidneys in from Mexico. And make up your own lines as you go!" He then reiterated what was clearly the biggest infraction in his mind: "You cannot make up your own lines!" It was also during this exchange that the brothers found out the executive producer had the same name as a character on the show. Dean asked, "What kind of a douche bag names a character after himself?" Fans of the show know from the DVD that Eric Kripke actually named the character without Singer's knowledge.
13. When Sam and Dean fought the angel Virgil, what did the cast and crew think was happening?

Answer: Jared and Jensen were beating up an extra

Lou Bollo saw them beating up the "extra" and called the two stunt men to help break it up. The stunt men were played by Jared's and Jensen's actual stunt doubles, Mike Carpenter and Todd Scott. Assistant Director Kevin Parks nervously repeated "not good, not good" as he joined Lou, Scott and Mike, to help break it up.

In the next scene, the executives for the show had a phone conversation about how to deal with their stars, who were seen "beating an extra to death."
14. Which character was stabbed to death in "The French Mistake"?

Answer: Misha

Virgil kidnapped Misha. He then killed him and used his blood to contact Raphael. The homeless man who witnessed this explained that, "The scary man killed the attractive crying man, and then he started to pray." Classic.
15. Virgil showed up with guns and committed a massacre on the set. Which crew member(s) survived?

Answer: Serge

It was quite the massacre, with Eric, Bob, Kevin, and Lou all being shot. It happened right after Eric and Bob went from talking about Misha's death to relishing the fact that it had gotten them "on the front page of 'Variety'." Serge however, simply leaned in and out, dodging the bullets.

The legendary cinematographer surviving seemed appropriate. Sam and Dean then jumped Virgil, and next encountered Raphael, Balthazar and Cas. Cas brought them back to their reality.
