Answer: William Shatner

William Shatner was born on March 22, 1931, in Montreal Quebec, Canada. Shatner was trained as a classical Shakespearean actor, and performed at the Shakespearean Stratford Festival of Canada in Stratford Ontario. Shatner's first television role came in 1954, when he was cast as "Ranger Bill" in the Canadian version of "The Howdy Doody Show". Shatner's first feature movie role came in 1958, when he was cast in the MGM movie, "The Brothers Karamazov" with Yul Brenner. Shatner played Alexi, the youngest of the Karamazov brothers. Undoubtedly, Shatner is best known for his role as James Tiberius Kirk, the brash and confident captain of the Federation Starship, USS Enterprise, on the original version to the television series "Star Trek".

The building seen in the series that served as the Academy Prescient Police Station was actually the American Film Institute Motion Picture Library in Los Angeles. During the opening credits of the series during the first two seasons, the police academy facility seen was the actual Los Angeles Police Department training academy in Elysian Park, just north of the downtown Los Angeles civic center. That academy is located across the street from Dodger Stadium, the home of baseball's National League Los Angeles Dodgers.

Lee Bryant is best remembered in the role of Francis "Fran" Hooker, the former spouse of the title character. Bryant appeared in the re-curring role during the first two seasons of the series. ABC canceled the series in the Summer of 1985. The series was then picked up by CBS, who produced new and expanded (90 minute) episodes to run in their late night "Crime Time after Prime Time" showcase. The new episodes of "T.J. Hooker" were shown on a rotating basis with other crime series. Production of the new shows were canceled in 1987.
