Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first task of this season pitted those with Book Smarts (Magna Corp) against those with Street Smarts (Net Worth Corp) to sell which of the following?

Answer: Burgers

Rather than split the teams down the center as men and women, Trump instead opted to split them into a team whose fortune was derived from university and college education and another whose wealth came from straight out of high school. For their first task, the teams worked for Burger King, beginning by selecting a new burger (Magna chose a Triple Cheese Angus Steak Burger while Net Worth used the Western Angus Burger) then selling it during a day's event. Whichever team sold for the highest profit won, and that was the street smarts team, Net Worth. Magna went to the boardroom where Todd was fired for poor leadership and bad delegation.
2. Which candidate quit before the third task?

Answer: Verna

In the second task, a motel refurbishment on the Jersey Shore, Verna, one of the members of Magna, decided that the pressure was too much to handle. She nearly walked out on the task but instead waited until after the team won. She left before task three was announced to become the first candidate to ever leave the show in any season. The third task of the season involved promotional campaigns for Nestle to promote their coffee brands on the streets of New York City. Magna lost this task as well, and when Danny was fired after the task (because he opted to bring an exempted candidate back to the boardroom despite their immunity) Magna was down two members.
3. In week four, both teams ended up in the final boardroom.

Answer: True

In the fourth week of the competition, both Magna and Net Worth were required to work with the Deutsch Advertising Agency to create thirty-second commercials for Dove's new moisturizing body wash. Magna opted to create a risque commercial which failed to hit the mark while Net Worth made a commercial with fundamental errors in the use of the product. Both advertisements were considered failures by the executives and both teams returned to the boardroom.

Although six people returned with the possibility of getting fired, Trump focused his attention on Net Worth, firing Kristen for her complete failure to handle the task and team.

This marked the first time in the show's history where both teams were sent to the boardroom.
4. For their task in week six, teams needed to commission a piece of graffiti in New York City promoting what PlayStation 2 video game release?

Answer: Gran Turismo 4

Starting week six, Magna and Net Worth met with representatives from Sony PlayStation to receive their task. This time they would need to work in Harlem with graffiti artists to cover a wall with a promotion for "Gran Turismo 4", a racing game for the console. Magna won the task by incorporating important elements from the game into their art (including the rating and in-game locations). Net Worth failed to win the task mainly because of project manager Tara's decision to appeal more to her view of the community rather than promote the game. Tara ended up getting fired because she omitted marketing from a task dedicated entirely to effective marketing.
5. Week eight brought the candidates face-to-face with musicians and FUSE TV for an auction. Which musician/band was not part of the task?

Answer: Tony Bennett

Shortly after their corporate reshuffling in task eight, the teams earned money for charity by negotiating prizes with musicians for inclusion in a music/celebrity auction for FUSE TV. Net Worth worked with the Barenaked Ladies, Gene Simmons, New Found Glory, Simple Plan, and Fat Joe. Magna worked with Moby, Lil' Kim, Lil Jon, Eve, and Jadakiss.

When all was said and done, Magna took the win by earning over $21,000 for the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation while Net Worth took in approximately half.

When taken to the boardroom, project manager Chris brought John and Erin along with him; John was fired because of his approach to work during the task.
6. In week nine, after completing their task for Home Depot, which candidate was fired based on a single comment made in the boardroom?

Answer: Erin

In week nine, the two teams needed to create a workshop at a Home Depot location and teach customers how to create a product in-store. Craig, leading Magna, won with a simple multi-purpose box that his team originally considered to be a bad idea. Because the box was able to be worked on by parents and painted by kids as a toy box, the executives in Home Depot considered the approach to be inspirational. Net Worth went to the boardroom after basing a workshop on a moveable kitchen island. Although Angie was close to being fired for failing as a project manager, a small comment about listening to the advisers and wink from Erin forced Trump that she was too much of a 'smart guy' and needed to be fired.
7. When creating new pizzas for Domino's Pizza in week ten, both teams opted to include which unorthodox ingredient?

Answer: Meatballs

After being told by Trump that he would enjoy a good meatball pizza, both teams got it into their heads that a meatball pizza would be the best option for new products working for Domino's. Both groups set out in mobile pizza vans and worked to sell the most units for the highest profit. Magna won (again), so Net Worth was sent to the boardroom and Stephenie was fired as project manager; she lost by over $130. At the beginning of the next task, both teams were criticized by Trump who told them that, had they done the least bit of market research, they would have realized that consumers wanted cheeseburger pizza-- not meatball pizza. Magna's focus groups in task eleven secured them the win the next week while working for American Eagle Outfitters.
8. In week thirteen, teams created organizational products for what company?

Answer: Staples

Entering the thirteenth week of the job interview, the final five set out to create items for Staples that would be sold in stores to reduce clutter. The three team members of Magna created a spinning lazy-susan device designed to hold desk items while Bren and Alex on Net Worth created a desk called 'The Packrat'.

This failed to gain steam with focus groups and executives alike and the two went to the boardroom where Bren openly admitted to not being a risk-taker. This left Trump with no choice but to fire him. In the next task, Net Worth continued an excessive losing streak-- nine losses in a row.
9. How many candidates were involved in the interviews held during the penultimate week of the competition?

Answer: Three

Unlike the previous two seasons of the show in which four final candidates would be interviewed by leading businesspeople in New York City, this privilege was reserved for the final three of this season. Interviewers included David A. Brandon (Chairman and CEO Domino's Pizza, Inc.), Darlene Daggett (President of U.S. Commerce, QVC, Inc.), Howard M. Lorber (Chairman of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate), and Greg Brenneman (Chairman and CEO of Burger King Corp.).

When the final three returned to the boardroom, Trump made his decision quickly firing Chris on the spot because of universal dislike from the four magnates.
10. What candidate from "The Apprentice 3" was selected as the winner of the competition?

Answer: Kendra

For their final task, Kendra and Tana needed to take on different leadership roles. Kendra organized a video gaming competition with EA Games, Best Buy, and Sony PlayStation promoting "Fight Night Round 2" at Webster Hall in New York. Tana needed to organize an athletic event for the NYC 2012 Olympic Board at Chelsea Pier. All in all, both events were successful but in the final boardroom, Trump chose Kendra Todd to be his apprentice, letting her choose between running the Miss Universe pageant and renovating a Palm Beach mansion (the latter she took as her prize). Trump felt that Kendra was well-liked by her superiors while Tana was somewhat offensive to her employees during the final task; Kendra also retained a perfect record with three wins as project manager.

She never faced a final boardroom excluding the finale.
