Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who is the lead actress in "The Slide Whistle"?

Answer: Holly Hunter

Holly Hunter is the fictitious lead in the fictitious "Slide Whistle", the story of a woman who loses her voice and is only able to communicate through a slide whistle.
2. Another parody was that of the Tina Turner biopic "What's Love Got To Do With It?"...except the parody was from husband Ike Turner's point of view. It actually went by two names: in the clip show episode it was called "What's Truth Got To Do With It?". What was it called in the series' run?

Answer: "I-Story"

In "I-Story"/"What's Truth Got To Do With It?", Ike Turner is a kind, caring, respectful husband who is more than willing to let Tina go solo. In "What's Love Got To Do With It?", Ike Turner is an abusive, domineering, disrespectful husband who isn't willing to let Tina go solo.
3. Why did Sir Roger Twice-Nightly accept his role in "Howard Stern's End"?

Answer: He needed the money

From the episode "Every Doris Has Her Day". Sir Roger Twice-Nightly's predicament reminds me of that of Sir Alec Guinness. A great actor by all means, he was wary of big movies. When he took his role in "Star Wars", he received more money than he had his entire career. An interesting parallel, though I doubt "Howard Stern's End" would be as big as "Star Wars".
4. In the film "Ghostchasers III", who or what terrorizes New York?

Answer: A gigantic Ed Koch

Making fun of Ed Koch was a staple of the show. Whenever he appeared, he'd always say "how'm I doin?".
5. Which of the following WASN'T one of the things other critics said about Jeremy Hawke's "Crocodile Gandhi"?

Answer: "just pointless"

Jeremy Hawke is Jay Sherman's best friend. The suave actor is good friends with the critic because he gave his first film its only positive review.
6. Which one of these is supposedly the sequel to "The Silence of the Lambs"?

Answer: "Honey, I Ate The Kids"

"Honey, I Ate the Kids" was a parody of "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids". In it, Hannibal Lecter and Clarice Starling are married, and Hannibal has apparently eaten the children. He plans to eat Clarice, too.
7. Keanu Reeves was made fun of more than a few times during the series' run. In which movie did he NOT "appear"?

Answer: "Bill & Ted's Slightly Average Adventure"

All three of those movies are ones that appear on "The Critic". I made up "Bill & Ted's Slightly Average Adventure".
8. Man, those raptors from "Jurassic Park 2" ("The Critic"'s version, not the real movie) sure are smart. Which of the following things does the raptor NOT say?

Answer: "I have already been accepted to MENSA."

Those raptors WERE smart. "Jurassic Park II" was one of the better parodies of the show.
9. Which parody am I just making up?

Answer: "The Shawshank Redemption II: Back To Jail"

"Roboclapper" was (obviously) a parody of RoboCop. In the hilarious parody, the 'Clapper investigates a convenience store holdup. The bullets fired by the robber bounce off him, and then he tells the robber "Freeze...". Next, the robber claps (you know, the Clapper?), turning the cop off. Looking around, confused, the robber claps again, in which the cop says "...Punk! ...Please don't do that."

"Rabbi P.I." is a movie "starring" Arnold Schwarzenegger in which he goes undercover as a Hasidic Jew.

"The Cockroach King" is a parody of "The Lion King" "starring" Howard Stern.
10. Much like Tom Hanks in "Philadelphia", Jerry Lewis tries his hand at drama with which movie?

Answer: "Schenectady"

The movie was quite obviously a parody of "Philadelphia".
