Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Maggie has a particular accent that distinguishes her from her London and English coworkers and friends. Where is she from?

Answer: Scotland

Actor Ashley Jensen is from Scotland, so Maggie's Scottish accent comes naturally. While Maggie doesn't talk much about her upbringing, in one scene we hear a long message left on her answering machine from her parents, who are worried that they'll have to clean out her old bedroom so she can move in; they don't have much confidence in Maggie's acting career.
2. In the Kate Winslet episode, Maggie blows it with her prop-master boyfriend. How does she do that?

Answer: Blurts out to Andy and Kate that her boyfriend likes phone sex

Maggie and her friend Andy, like most extras on movie sets, have a lot of downtime, and they fill these periods with useless blather. Andy can tell there is something amiss in Maggie's relationship, and, when she blurts out that her boyfriend likes phone sex and she doesn't know what to say to him, Kate Winslet overhears and jumps in with some startlingly precise advice.

Unfortunately, Maggie's boyfriend finds out and, angry that Maggie revealed to others what he thought was private, he breaks up with her.
3. In the Ben Stiller episode, Maggie meets a handsome production assistant on set. But she's turned off when Andy points out something about the man. What happened?

Answer: Maggie couldn't get over his uneven legs and large orthopedic shoe

Although Maggie thought the man was handsome and flirted with him in the production office, when they meet at a party, Andy points out the man's orthopedic shoe and limp. Maggie admits to being shallow and while she tries to cover it up, she shows her true colors to the man, who walks out.
4. On the set of a period piece, a man with a rather posh accent catches Maggie's eye, but, as she tells Andy, she doesn't think she's smart enough for him. What is her evidence?

Answer: "He reads the big papers."

Maggie tells Andy that the bloke is an intellectual because he reads the big papers, whereas she confuses "Christopher Columbus" with "Colombo," the television detective. With Andy's encouragement, Maggie approaches the man and they go out on a date. He turns out to be a major jerk so that is that. Another romantic disappointment for poor Maggie.
5. In the Samuel L. Jackson episode, Maggie, who is white, is attracted to a young black actor on set and praises his ability to hold a file folder in a scene. The two end up going on a date and back to Maggie's apartment, but things don't work out. Why is that?

Answer: Maggie keeps putting her foot in her mouth about race

The young man Maggie dates is very polite and clearly kind, but Maggie is over-aware of their racial differences and keeps saying off-putting things by accident, and even has a racist toy in her doll collection which she unsuccessfully tries to hide from him. It only gets worse from there and there is no second date.
6. In season 2, Maggie meets a famous British actor on the set of a courtroom drama. Although all the other women on set fawn over him, Maggie isn't at all interested, and the actor takes offense. Who is this elfin actor?

Answer: Orlando Bloom

Orlando Bloom at first doesn't believe Maggie doesn't think he's handsome, and he gets so annoyed, he insists that he kiss her to change her mind. Maggie shrugs him off and says that Johnny Depp is more her style.
7. In the Les Dennis episode, Maggie runs into a childhood friend, Lizzie Bunting, who has a part in the play her father Bunny is directing. Bunny and Lizzie have a wince-inducing relationship. How does Maggie get kicked out of Lizzie's house later?

Answer: telling Lizzie she should have friends her own age

When Maggie arrives at Lizzie's house for Lizzie's birthday celebration, Maggie is horrified to see that all of Lizzie's friends are as old or older than her parents, and that Lizzie is overly attached to her father, who has forced Lizzie to pursue a career in entertainment she's not particularly suited for. Maggie tells Lizzie what she thinks, and then Lizzie tells her father....and Maggie is thrown out of the party.

They won't even let her take a snack with her for the tube home.
8. On each set, Maggie is always scoping for a handsome man. In an episode where Maggie and Andy have parts in a film set in a magical forest, only one person hits on her, yet it would not be an appropriate match. Who is it?

Answer: Daniel Radcliffe who was a teenager at the time

Daniel Radcliffe, from the "Harry Potter" films, plays a randy teenage version of himself in this episode as he hits on Maggie and really any woman in sight. Maggie is not impressed but treats the boy kindly.
9. While Andy is busy taking part in a play with Sir Ian McKellan, Maggie agrees to a date with Darren Lamb, Andy's incompetent and awkward agent. The date had been going well enough but came to an embarrassing end. What happened?

Answer: Darren's W.C. had plumbing issues and Maggie slipped out at the first chance

Darren had an unfortunate experience with his W.C. and Maggie, probably feeling a bit nauseous as well as turned off, fled. Before that, it had seemed they might have been a promising couple, but it was not to be.
10. In the final episode of season 2, Maggie accompanies Andy on an act of charity and her dedication to this underlines Maggie's sweet nature. What do they do?

Answer: Visit a sick boy in hospital

A sick boy's wish is to meet Andy, who is by now the star of the sitcom "When the Whistle Blows." Andy brings Maggie with him to the hospital. When Andy wants to blow off the next visit with the boy, Maggie goes in his stead and plays "Operation" with the boy. Andy does show up at the end after all.
