Question 2 of 10
2. I'm Lt. Commander Dax. Captain Sisko and I are old friends. In fact, he called me "Old Man," even though I was a woman! When I was killed by Gul Dukat (who was under the influence of a pah-wraith), my husband, Worf, was really hurt by it. Do you remember my first name?

Answer: (One Word)
Question 3 of 10
3. You can call me Garak. I know that rumors abound that I was once a member of the Obsidian Order, but it's not true... That is, unless you believe it to be true. Anyway, I'm not going to riddle with you anymore. I'm just a simple tailor. My first name? Oh, come now. Why should I ever tell you that?

Answer: (One Word)
Question 4 of 10
4. My name is Dr. Bashir. I am the Chief Medical Officer aboard Deep Space Nine. I finished second at the Academy Medical School, but only because I didn't want to reveal my intelligence as superior to others. But my secret was discovered when Dr. Lewis Zimmerman wanted to use me as the template for the LMH. Do you know what my first name is? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. I'm Captain Sisko, commander of Deep Space Nine. The Bajorans like to call me "Emissary of the Prophets," but I'm just a Starfleet officer. Please, enjoy your stay here; I hope you enjoy our facilities on the Promenade. But, whatever you do, don't call me Emissary. Just call me...

Answer: (One Word)
Question 6 of 10

Question 7 of 10
7. The name's O'Brien. I'm Chief of Operations on DS9. I don't really get much time off, because the Cardassians who were here before us managed to tear almost every system apart before they left. Fortunately, I think I got the station running enough so I can enjoy the occasional synth-ale and round of darts with Dr. Bashir. Why don't you come down to Quark's tonight? Tell 'em _______ sent you. Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. I'm Lt. Dax, Counselor on Deep Space Nine. Because I'm a Trill and I carry the Dax symbiont, I know my way around this station pretty well. I have to, because I feel uncomfortable around Lt. Commander Worf. You see, the previous Dax host was married to Worf, and I think it's best that I avoid him, at least for the time being. I also don't like space travel; I get motion sickness pretty easily. Do you know my first name?

Answer: (One Word)
Question 9 of 10
9. I'm Commander Sloan, Starfleet Intelligence. Everyone will tell you that I am with Section 31, but the Federation officially does not acknowledge the existence of such an organization. I am part of a covert ops force, and I have used Dr. Bashir as a source of information on more than one occasion. I won't tell you my first name; you have to figure that out for yourself. Hint

Question 10 of 10

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I'm Colonel Kira, second in command of Deep Space Nine. I know this station pretty well, considering I was here back when it was Terok Nor. Do you know my given name?

Answer: Nerys

Col. Kira Nerys (Nana Visitor) started out as a Major in the Bajoran Militia. She was also an instrumental member of the Resistance movement against the Cardassian Occupation.
Kira was among my favorite characters in all of "Star Trek", because she was this hard-as-nails, no-nonsense woman, but at the same time she was exceptionally spiritual and unafraid to show her softer side.
2. I'm Lt. Commander Dax. Captain Sisko and I are old friends. In fact, he called me "Old Man," even though I was a woman! When I was killed by Gul Dukat (who was under the influence of a pah-wraith), my husband, Worf, was really hurt by it. Do you remember my first name?

Answer: Jadzia

Lt. Commander Jadzia Dax (Terry Farrell) spent six years as Science Officer on DS9; she was also the helm operator of the U.S.S. Defiant. The term of endearment "Old Man" was based on the Dax symbiont's previous life as Curzon (who was an old man).
Terry Farrell was the only cast member of this show to not renew her contract for Season 7. She had felt that Jadzia had run her course on the show.

Answer: Elim

In "The Wire", Dr. Bashir goes to Cardassia to learn about Garak's "friend," Elim, from Enabran Tain (Paul Dooley). Tain, after some coaxing, finally reveals to Bashir that Elim is Garak's first name. Later, we learn that Enabran Tain is also Garak's father. Garak had been trained to succeed Tain as leader of the Obsidian Order, but something (we're not sure what) led to his banishment to Terok Nor to live out his life as a simple tailor. Played by Andrew Robinson, Garak became one of the most intriguing and ambiguous characters in the history of "Star Trek".

His credits are quite diverse, ranging from the title role in the TV movie about Liberace, to movies like "Hellraiser" and "Child's Play 3".

Answer: Julian

The LMH was the proposed Long-Term Medical Hologram that Dr. Lewis Zimmerman (Robert Picardo) was developing for ships on deep-space missions. As for Dr. Bashir, his secret was that when he was a child, he was poorly-developed. So, his parents took him to this facility to have him genetically altered. Because of the controversy that had surrounded the Eugenics Wars of the late 20th Century (specifically, one Khan Noonian Singh), genetic alteration of humans became illegal. Fortunately, since he had no control over these events, Bashir was allowed to continue his service to Starfleet, but his father was sentenced to two years in a Federation penal facility for his actions. FAST FACT: Alexandar Siddig, who was born Siddig El-Fadil, was once married to "DS9" co-star Nana Visitor (Kira) during the run on the show.

When she became pregnant, it was written into the show as Kira becoming an emergency surragote mother to Keiko O'Brien's (Rosalind Chao) baby after an accident aboard a runabout.

Answer: Ben

Captain Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks) began his duty on DS9 with the rank of Commander; he was promoted at the end of his third year there. His wife, Jennifer, was one of the many casualties with the battle against the Borg at Wolf-359.
Avery Brooks' first big break was as Hawk on the TV series "Spenser: For Hire", which starred Robert Urich. Hawk was such a popular character on that show, not only did he got his own spin-off, but Sisko's look evolved into Hawk's, as well (shaved head and goatee).
6. I am Commander Eddington, Starfleet Security. At least, I was until I joined the Maquis. Sisko was very upset about me joining my friends, but he just didn't understand. What is my first name?

Answer: Michael

Commander Michael Eddington (Kenneth Marshall) was assigned to Deep Space Nine to take over as Chief of Security for the station. This displeased both Sisko and Odo (René Auberjonois) to no end. When he defected to the Maquis, Sisko took it personally.
Kenneth Marshall's credits include roles in "Krull" and "Operation Delta Force II", as well as guest-starring turns in "Quantum Leap" and the first incarnation of "Hunter".

Answer: Miles

Chief Miles O'Brien (Colm Meaney) transferred to Deep Space Nine after serving five years on board the Enterprise-D as its Transporter Chief. Besides darts, O'Brien and Dr. Bashir also enjoyed the occasional Holosuite adventure at Quark's. Edward is O'Brien's middle name.
Colm Meaney's movie credits include "Die Hard 2: Die Harder", "Under Siege", "The Commitments", "Con-Air", and "Mystery, Alaska".

Answer: Ezri

Lt. Ezri Dax (Nicole de Boer) was assigned to Deep Space Nine in its seventh year of Starfleet occupation. She was the ninth host of the Dax symbiont, the last of whom was Jadzia. Her family operates a mining business at New Sydney.
Since the conclusion of "Deep Space Nine", Toronto native Nicole de Boer has been featured in "Rated X" and the TV series "The Dead Zone". She also co-starred in the cult hit "Cube" before joining "DS9".

Answer: Luther

Commander Luther Sloan (William Sadler) was a sly fellow. His "use" of Dr. Bashir usually meant that Bashir did the dirty work, while Sloan waited silently in the wings for the results of the assignment.
William Sadler is a veteran of both film and television. He has been in "Die Hard 2: Die Harder", "The Green Mile", and "The Shawshank Redemption", as well as the TV series "Roswell".
10. Hello, Child! I am Kai Winn, the spiritual leader of Bajor. Some have accused me of terrorism, but I am a peaceful woman. I would never harm anyone. In fact, if you know my given name, I am sure that I can call you "friend."

Answer: Adami

Kai Winn Adami (Louise Fletcher) succeeded Kai Opaka (Camille Saviola), who remained behind on a small moon in the Gamma Quadrant to hopefully bring peace to two long-warring factions. Though it was never proved, Kai Winn was believed to have been responsible for the bombing of a school on DS9.
Louise Fletcher has been acting in movies and television since 1958. She has won several awards during her career, including an Oscar for Best Actress for her role as Nurse Ratched in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" (1975).
