Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where did the magical door drop Flynn and company?

Answer: Oregon

Flynn used his librarian skills to determine they were in Oregon, which Eve Baird confirmed on her cell phone using the GPS app.
Much of the new "Librarians" series is being filmed in and around Portland, Oregon. The state capitol in Salem doubled as the exterior of the Metropolitan Library.
2. What actor from "Night Court" plays Jenkins, the Library staffer?

Answer: John Larroquette

Veteran actor John Larroquette plays Jenkins, who may be even more uptight than Charlene (Jane Curtain). Jenkins greets the group not far from where the portal left them, simply stating that he had been waiting. It's something he does.
From 1984 to 1992, Larroquette played Dan Fielding on "Night Court", a role that earned him four consecutive Emmy Awards. Laroquette won a fifth Emmy for playing a charming psychotic killer on "The Practice" in 1998. Larroquette's first credited role in a film was as the narrator of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (1974).
3. According to Ezekiel, the unedited edition of Isaac Newton's "Principia Mathematica" indicates he got his ideas from what source?

Answer: Atlantis

Ezekiel Jones picks up the book and reads the title as "Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy as Derived from The Thinking Machines of Atlantis". As Flynn notes, it was the unedited version. The "Philosophić Naturalis Principia Mathematica" was published by Sir Issac Newton in July 1687.

It is regarded as one of the most important works in the history of science. Newton revolutionized physics, laying out his laws of motion and the principles of gravity. Newton actually invented the mathematical discipline of calculus to prove the theories he advanced in the Principia. Yeah, he was that smart.
4. What tourist attraction is Flynn Carsen visiting when we see him for the first time in London?

Answer: The Tower of London

Flynn, Eve, Jake and Ezekiel are at the Tower of London, at the crown jewels exhibit. They are seeking a magical artifact which can lead them to King Arthur's stone. Ezekiel uses his exceptional skills as a thief to do a quick swap while Eve and Jake distract the Beef Eaters.
The Tower of London is one of London's most popular tourist attractions. It dates back to William the Conqueror, and served as a prison for over 800 years. Many of the most famous events in British history took place within its walls. And as fans of "Doctor Who" know, it is the site of UNIT's secret headquarters.
5. What kind of stone was the "Star of Marrakesh" that Ezekiel stole?

Answer: Emerald

The bright green stone was an enormous emerald.
"The Star of Marrakesh" is not the name of any real jewel. According to Flynn, John Dee used it to save the life of Elizabeth the First. John Dee was a real person, he was a mathematician and alchemist who really did work for Queen Elizabeth.
According to Ezekiel, the stone was worth 7 million Euros. The incantation Flynn used to turn the stone into a compass was "Omni arcanum directio."
6. What London landmark was the stone of King Arthur buried under?

Answer: Buckingham Palace

The jewel lead Flynn to Buckingham Palace, which just happened to have a charity event. Ezekiel attempted to get them in with forged invitations; when that fell through, Eve Baird was able to use her connections at NATO to get them inside. The stone was located in a chamber deep under the palace. The first home at the site was built by John Sheffield, the Duke of Buckingham, in 1703. King George III bought the property in 1761, but it has only been the official royal residence since 1837, when Queen Victoria moved in.

The palace contains over 830,000 square feet of floor space, so there is plenty of room to hide ancient artifacts.
7. Who works out the secret code that releases the cage surrounding the Excalibur stone?

Answer: Cassandra

Cassandra was able to use her advanced mathematical skills to solve the code and unlock the cage.
Cassandra explained that the code was High Enochian, a language composed of Greek and Hebrew symbols. Actually, Enochian makes a great deal of sense in this context, as it was recorded by John Dee, the magical advisor to Queen Elizabeth I.
Dee called the language "Angelic" or "Celestial" and claimed it could be used to communicate with angels. Enoch was a biblical patriarch, the father of Methuselah, and is found in Genesis 5.
8. Flynn defeats Lamia with "knowledge and science." Knowledge about what scientific principle exactly?

Answer: Electromagnetism

"A Librarian wins with knowledge. A Librarian wins with science," states Flynn. "A Librarian wins with electromagnets." He and Jake Stone use their McGyver-like skills to create a makeshift electro-magnet that allows Flynn to remove Arthur's crown from Lamia.
Unfortunately, by the time they are able to rescue Excalibur from the stone, most of its magic had dissipated.
9. Cassandra used the last remaining magic in Excalibur to cure her brain tumor.

Answer: False

Cassandra had the choice between saving herself and saving Flynn and she chose to save Flynn. Which is not surprising, because Noah Wyle is the Executive Producer. Flynn was magically healed, and they all returned to Portland, the new site of the library.
Flynn: "That was supposed to be for you."
Cassandra: "You already have saved me."
10. Finish the quote by Flynn Carsen:" The opportunity to... save the world every week, twice before _______________."

Answer: Friday

Once he is back in full health, Flynn and the Librarians return to Portland. Flynn decides he'll need extra help if he is to both fight the Serpent Brotherhood and discover where the Library disappeared to. So he recruits the "Librarians in Training."
Flynn's speech: "I'm offering you a life of mystery and misery, of loneliness and adventure. More than that, I'm offering you an opportunity to make a difference, to save the world every week, twice before Friday. Are you in?"
Jake agreed so that he could help people, Ezekiel saw new opportunities to steal cool things and Cassandra simply hugged Flynn.
Flynn's parting advice to the new Librarians is "Try not to die."
