The scene cuts and when we return, Carol is reading a book and Ross is still talking to her belly, "And everyone's telling me, you gotta pick a major, you gotta pick a major. So, on a dare, I picked paleontology. And you have no idea what I'm saying, because, let's face it, you're a fetus. You're just happy you don't have gills anymore." Carol tells him, "Look, you don't have to talk to it. You can sing to it if you want." Ross says, "Oh, please. I am not singing to your stomach, okay?" Just then Susan enters and asks, "Hi, how's it goin'?" Ross shushes her and starts singing, "Here we come, walkin' down the street, get the funniest looks from, everyone we meet.

Hey, hey!" He then says to Carol, "Hey, did you just feel that?" Carol tells him she did feel it and he starts to ask if it always happens and Carol says, "No, no that was the first." Susan then excitedly says, "Keep singing! Keep singing!" Ross does and sings, "Hey, hey, you're my baby, and I can't wait to meet you. When you come out I'll buy you a bagel, and then we'll go to the zoo." Susan then says she felt it and Ross keeps singing, "Hey, hey, I'm your daddy. I'm the one without any breasts."

In the episode, "TOW the Dozen Lasagnas", Carol finds out the sex of her baby. She asks Ross if he wants to know, but he tells her, "No, no, no, no, no, I don't want to know, absolutely not. I think, you know, I think you should know until you look down there, and say, oop, there it is...or isn't." When Susan comes home, Carol tells her what the sex is and they both get excited. Ross then decides he wants to know, but then says he doesn't. Later on, Rachel tells him, "I can't believe you don't want to know. I mean, I couldn't not know, I mean, if, if the doctor knows, and Carol knows, and Susan knows..." Monica says, "And Monica knows." Ross says, "What? How could you know, I don't even know!" Monica tells him, "Carol called me to thank me for the lasagna, I asked, she told me." Next week is our final class." Carol then says, "This is impossible.

Carol then shouts to Ross, "Oh, what do you know? No one's going up to you and saying, "Hi, is that your nostril? Mind if we push this pot roast through it?" Susan then says, "Carol, Carol, sweetie. Cleansing breath. I know it's frightening, but, big picture.

The birth part is just one day, and when it's over, we're all gonna be parents for the rest of our lives."

In the episode, "TOW the Birth", everyone had to leave the delivery room except for"ex-husbands and lesbian life-partners". When the baby began to crown, the doctor said, "Alright, he's crowning. Here he comes." Ross says, "Let me see, I gotta see, I gotta see. Oh, a head. Oh, it's, it's huge. Carol, how are you doing this?" Carol is straining and says, "Not helping!" The doctor tells her she's doing great. Susan asks what Ross sees when he puts his head near the baby and he says, "We got a head, we got shoulders, we got arms, we got, oh, look at the little fingers, oh, and a chest, and a stomach.

Ross tells her, "Kinda like my uncle Ed, covered in Jell-o." Phoebe, still hanging in the air vent says, "You guys, he's beautiful!"

In the episode, "TO Where Old Yeller Dies", Carol and Susan drop Ben off with Ross while they go away for the weekend. When Ross nters Central Perk, he hands Ben to Rachel. She holds him at arms length and when Ross asks her what she is doing, she tells him she is holding Ben. Ross then tells her, "Yeah, well, he's a baby not a bomb. Just hold him like you'd hold a football." Rachel says, "This is how I would hold a football." Ross then tells her she should feel comfortable enough to hold a bay by the time they have their own which freaks Rachel out.

He finally gets her calmed down enough, after a little persuasion. She then tries to change Ben, while Ross watches. Ross says, "Okay, and then you take the poopie diaper and you put it in the poopie diaper pail." Rachel says, "Okay Ross, just so you know, calling it a poopie diaper doesn't make this process any cuter." The intercom buzzes and it's Carol and Susan. Ross tells them to come on up and then says to Rachel, "I'm gonna get the rest of his stuff together." He then exits to his room. Rachel says to Ben, "Okay, we can do this now, can't we Ben? Yes we can, yes we can.

There. I did it. I did it. Look at that, oh, stays on and everything. Hi." Ben says, "Hi." Rachel gets excited and says, "I'm sorry, what did you just say? Did you just say hi? Oh my God, Ross, Ross, Ben just said "Hi." Ross says, "Great, great, and I miss that too, I miss everything." Rachel says, "Oh, I'm sorry, I guess I just bring it out in him." When Carol and Susan walk in, Rachel tells them, "Guess what. Ben just said his first word." Carol asks, "What did he say?" Not too thrilled, Ross says, "Something about hi." Susan says, "That's so exciting." Carol tells Ben, "Mommy is so proud of you." When they were leaving, Ross says, "Well, this was fun. We should really do it again sometime, what do you say? Okay. Alright so I've got him." He then says, "Bye Ben." Ben says, "Bye." Rachel then says, "Did, did he just, did he, did he just say, he said bye. He said bye. You said, you said bye to me. You said bye to me." Susan says, "Suddenly I'm seeing him go off to college."

In the episode, "TO Where Rachel Smokes", Ben receives a chance to star in a soup commercial. Joey is jealous of him although he is just a kid, so he decides to go with them and try to audition for the role of Ben's dad. Both Ben and Joey are called back for a second audition.

While at the second audition, Ross says, "Oh God, this is so nerve wracking! How do you do this?" Joey says, "Well, unfortunately, I don't get many callbacks." Carol then asks, "Is it a good sign that they asked us to hang around after the audition?" Joey says, "Who knows?" The casting director then walks in and says, "Okay, we have narrowed it down to Raymond, Ben, Kyle, and Joey.

The rest of you, thank you very much." Joey says, "Oh this is great! I might actually get to play Ben's dad!" The casting director then says, "Actually, that can't happen. Yeah because you all have such different looks, we're putting you with Raymond and Kyle with Ben. So it'll be either you two..." He points to Joey and Raymond and then points to Kyle and Ben and says, "Or you two." Later on, Joey tells Ross, "Well, I've been thinking about this whole commercial thing, you know, me going up against Ben, the two of us competing, and that can't lead to anything good. So, I think I'm just gonna step aside. I'm gonna tell them that I won't audition." Ross says, "Wow, Joey. That's great. Thanks man." Joey gets upset and says, "That's it? You're gonna let me do this? This is my career we're talking about here! I just said that so you wouldn't let Ben do it! Look Ross, if anyone should step aside it should be Ben!" Ross asks, "Why should Ben step aside? It was his audition in the first place! You just tagged along! You're like the tag-a-long dad." Joey then says, "At least I care about his feelings! Do you know how hard this is gonna be on him when he doesn't get it?" Ross asks, "And why wouldn't he get it?" Joey tells him, "Oh, come on! Have you seen what my kid can do? I mean he dials phones! He eats tortilla chips! He plays soccer with the cartoon tiger!" Ross then asks, "Are you saying your kid eats soup better than my kid?" Joey says, "You just give him a spoon baby!" Ross says, "Oh yeah? I guess we'll just see!" Joey then says, "Yeah, because this commercial belongs to me and Mitch!" Ross says, "You're kid's name is Raymond!" Joey says, "Yeah? So's yours!"

Cole Sprouse first appears as Ben Geller in the sixth's season's episode, "TO That Could Have Been, Part I". Cole Mitchell Sprouse and his identical twin, Dylan Thomas, (the oldest twin by 15 minutes), were born in Arezzo, Italy, on August 4, 1992. They both shared the role of Grace's youngest son, Patrick Kelly, on "Grace Under Fire" from 1993 to 1998.

They also shared the role of Julian McGrath, in 1999's "Big Daddy", with Adam Sandler. For the first five seasons, the role of Ben Geller, was shared by twins, Charles Thomas Allen and John Christopher Allen.

Ross says, "Okay, that's right, yes, but on Hanukkah, we sing, "Draydl, draydl, draydl, I made you out of clay." Ben sings, "Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer..." Ross interrupts him and says, "Okay, it's not a contest." Ben then asks, "When is Santa coming?" Ross says, "Well, how about this year, instead of Santa, we have fun celebrating Hanukkah?" Ben asks, "No Santa? Was I bad?" Ross says, "No! Oh, no.

Hey, you weren't bad, you've been very good, Ben." Ben then says, "Santa's mad at me." Ross says, "No, hey, come on. Ben, Santa is not mad at you, okay? Hey, you're his favorite little guy!" Ben asks, "So Santa's coming?" Disappointed, Ross says, "Yes! Santa's coming!"

Although he has no speaking lines, Ben does appear in this episode for a short time. Phoebe bought Monica and Chandler a Ms. Pac-Man arcade game for their wedding present. Monica comes home from work and finds Chandler playing the game. Chandler says, "You are not going to believe what I did today!" Monica says, "Well it clearly wasn't showering or shaving." Chandler says, "I got good. I played this game all day and now I rule at it! They should change the name of it to Ms. Chandler. Although I hope they don't. Come on, check out the scores. Oh, and also look at the initials, they're dirty words." Monica asks, "Chandler, why would you do that?" He says, "Because it's awesome." Monica then tells him, "Ben's coming over here tomorrow to play this game, this can't be there." Chandler says, "Come on, he won't even know what they mean." Monica says, "Chandler! He's seven. He's not stupid." A little while lter, Monica is playing the game trying to erase Chandler's inititals when Phoebe walks in. She starts to say, "Hey, you guys. Listen, I'm sorry that I was hogging the game before." She then sees the high scores list and says, "Oh my God! Your friends have some unfortunate initials!" Monica says, "They're all Chandler." Phoebe then says, "Chandler sucks! He couldn't have gotten this good!" Chandler says, "I did. But it came at a price." He then looks at his cramped hand. Monica says, "But Ben is coming over tonight and he can't see this." A short time later, Phoebe is trying to get the high score but dies. She then starts yelling obscenities just as Ross walks in with Ben. We then see Ross with a shocked look on his face trying to cover Ben's ears. Ross says, "Phoebe!" Phoebe says, "Oh. Hi, Ben. Oh, no! Don't look at the machine!"
