Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How did Jack describe the "piece" he performed in his acting class?

Answer: classical

Jack is the first person to be called up on the stage and once he got there, he says, "Thank you, Zandra. I've chosen a classical piece. But I believe it still speaks to us today." He continues, "At first, I was afraid. I was petrified. Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side, but then I spent so many nights just thinking how you did me wrong! And I grew strong!"
2. According to Grace, what is "mimosa" French for?

Answer: "I don't wanna wait 'til noon to get hammered."

After Leo introduces Grace to his friends (parents), Jay and Eleanor, Eleanor says, "Nice to meet you. Will you explain to this lunatic that they did not move the George Washington Bridge?" Jay says, "Well, yelling "turn here, jackass, turn here" doesn't help me find the exit, darling." Grace then says, "Please, sit. We just ordered mimosas, which I believe is French for "I don't wanna wait 'til noon to get hammered." Ha ha ha!"
3. Were Jay and Eleanor Leo's parents?

Answer: Yes

When Eleanor tells Grace that they don't watch television, Grace responds, "Oh, God. That's a load of crap, and you know it." Eleanor then tells her she prefers the theater. Grace says, "Boo! No one likes the theater. It's just an expensive nap." Eleanor then says to her husband, "You hear that, honey? Those five books I wrote were about a nap." Jay and Eleanor then get up to get some food and Grace tells Leo they're nice people, Leo then says, "Leo says, "I knew you'd like them. See, it wasn't so bad meeting my parents, was it?" Grace replies, "No. What? They're your parents? You invite your parents, and you don't tell me they're your parents?" Leo tells her, "Well, it's just that they're not my parents." Grace says, "They're not? Then why did you say that?" Leo then says, "They're my parents."
4. According to Jack, what zodiac sign is "playful"?

Answer: Libras

When Joanne starts her performance, and begins to cry, he immediately stops her and tells her when she cries, she's ugly. She replies, "I'd like to be pretty, but cancer is sad." Jack says, "And Libras are playful. Okay. They say acting is reacting. I say acting is attracting. Are you attractive enough? I see a lot of puzzled faces. But not many attractive ones."
5. What part of the body does Jack tell Joanne to "act from"?

Answer: face

After Jack criticizes her performance, she tells him, "I spent a day with a woman who lost who father to cancer." Jack replies, "I can't help you get that time back, sweetheart. But I can help you get this part. Okay. Joanne, what's happening is you're too hung up on what's in here." He then runs his hand over his heart and says, "The audience, they can't see that. No.

They can only see what's in here, okay. Act from here, honey." He then runs his hand over his face and says, "Act from your hair. Alright? But not that hair. Get some highlights, take those teeth a few shades up, and, hello, Joanne, beautiful breasts. How 'bout can we see them?"
6. Did Karen sing the verse, "Brush off the clouds and cheer up"?

Answer: Yes

Returning from the dermatologist's office, Karen and Will enter his apartment singing. Will first sings, "Gray skies are gonna clear up." Karen follows, "Put on a happy face." Karen then sings, "Brush off the clouds and cheer up." Then Will sings, ""Put on a happy face."
7. What word did Grace ask the spelling of?

Answer: theater, theatre

While Grace is trying to cover her tracks after making a fool of herself in front of Leo's parents, she begins to ramble, "And when I said, I ran through the Louvre, it was only because I was so inspired, I had to run back to my hotel, to paint." Leo tells her, "You don't have to do this, Grace." She replies, "Do what? I'm not doing anything. What're you doing? That's the bigger question. Theater, do you spell that with an R-E or an E-R? I don't mean 'ER', the TV program. I don't watch television, either."
8. What character did Grace call Leo?

Answer: Pinocchio

Leo tells his parents that he lied and told Grace they were old friends of his, not his parents. Grace says, "That's right. He lied. Just like the boy in that play who lies all the time. Help me out here, Eleanor." Eleanor says, "Pinocchio?" Grace replies, "Yeah, Pinocchio. Your son's a Pinocchio."
9. What play did Jack say Russell made "watchable"?

Answer: "Death of a Salesman"

Jack commends two guys who performed a scene for him and tells them, "Thank you. Great scene. Finally, somebody makes "Death of a Salesman" watchable. How did that feel?" Russell replies, "Okay, I don't remember there being a kiss between the brothers." Jack then says, "That's the difference between acting the play and Jackting the play."
10. What did Jack say Joanne transformed into?

Answer: an attractress

After Zandra tells Jack that he can't act, he can't teach and he has nothing to offer and never will, Joanne enters and says, "That's not true. I did everything Jack said, and this afternoon, I got my first job." Jack questions, "The anti-smoking thing?" She tells him, "No, I didn't get that one, because I seemed too jazzed about my dead dad. The same casting director liked my smile and put me in a toothpaste commercial." Jack replies, "Even better. You see. She's actually helping people. She's transformed from an actress into an attractress."
