Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of the character Ricky Gervais plays?

Answer: David Brent

He was the manager of the office for series one and two. Ricky is co-writer of 'The Office'. There have been two series and a Christmas special and Ricky has said there will be no more. It won two BAFTAS.
2. In the Christmas special of 'The Office', we are told the name of Neil's girlfriend, what is it?

3. Which of these is a quote from David?

Answer: "I've created an atmosphere where I'm a friend first, boss second. Probably entertainer third."

David said this in series 1 episode 1. He seems obsessed with being thought of as an entertainer. He mentions it in several episodes. Tim said the quote about the alarm clock, and the other two were from Gareth.
4. Who wrote the poem "Slough"?

Answer: John Betjeman

Extracts of this poem were read out and mocked by David in one episode. Here is an extract,
"Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough! It isn't fit for humans now, There isn't grass to graze a cow. Swarm over, Death!"
5. What was the name of the poem that was written by David, and recited to Dawn in series 2, episode 2?

Answer: Excalibur

Here's an extract, "I'd drown with you to be together. Must you breathe? 'Cos I need Heaven."

Answer: Simon

Simon is the IT 'geek' who comes into the office to fix the computers. Tim doesn't like him, but he seems to get on very well with Gareth.
7. Who said this? "Now guys, we're about to enter a warehouse environment, now I must warn you that some of the people in here will be working class."

Answer: Tim

He said this as a joke in series 2, episode 3. He didn't seem to make the joke in a snobby way, he is just playing on what he thinks is the typical warehouse stereotype.
8. Which one of these is NOT a nickname for one of Gareth's friends?

Answer: Keano

Keano is Gareth's nickname. We find out the other nicknames in series 2, episode 6. The 'Oggmonster' is played by Stephen Merchant, co-writer of 'The Office'.
9. Who was Gareth describing when he said this, "He's a weird little bloke, look at his cartoon face and his hair - he looks like a Fisher Price man, his rubbish clothes."?

10. Finally, what Bee Gees' song was playing when Neil was dancing with Rachel at the Comic Relief party?

Answer: "More than a Woman"

David seemed very jealous at this and promptly did his own hilarious dance in series 2, episode 5. in my opinion this moment is one of the funniest moments on tv.
