1. What was the name of the actor who played Hutch?

Answer: David Soul

Detective Ken Hutchinson was the quiet and thoughtful member of the duo. David Soul was born in August 1943, in Chicago. He recorded four albums between 1977-1982, and had a number one single called 'Don't Give Up On Us Baby'. He speaks both German and Spanish.
2. Which actor played the role of Starsky?

Answer: Paul Michael Glaser

Dave Starsky was the brash one, happy to exist on a diet of junk food. Paul Michael Glaser was born in March 1943, in Massachusetts. He is known as an AIDS activist, as his wife and daughter both died of the disease and his son is HIV positive.
3. What kind of car did Starsky drive?

Answer: Ford Gran Torino

Starsky's car was unmistakable - it was red, with a white stripe running round it. Hutch often complained about it, but his cars were always very beaten up and frequently broke down. Starsky complained a lot about them!
4. What was the name of Starsky and Hutch's boss, played by Bernie Hamilton?

Answer: Captain Dobey

Although Captain Harold Dobey frequently lost patience with Starsky and Hutch, annoyed by their apparent disregard for his instructions and their love of practical jokes, he was always supportive of their crime fighting efforts. Anyone who called their integrity into question would have him to answer to, as he always defended their actions to outsiders.

In the pilot episode, the role of Captain Dobey was played by Richard Ward.
5. Who was Huggy Bear?

Answer: Starsky and Hutch's informant

Huggy Bear was the very hip owner first of a bar called Huggy Bear's, then of another bar, The Pits. He could always be relied upon to find out information for Starsky and Hutch. Antonio Fargas played the role of Huggy Bear.

Answer: Bay City

The show was set in the fictional Bay City. Starsky and Hutch were detectives with the BCPD. The show was actually filmed around Los Angeles.

John Ritter and Suzanne Somers were the stars of the sitcom 'Three's Company'. Jeff Goldblum appeared as Harry Markham in 'Starsky and Hutch' in 1977; since then he has starred in many Hollywood blockbusters, including 'Independence Day' and 'Jurassic Park'. As well as his role as Captain Kirk on 'Star Trek', William Shatner starred as the eponymous hero of 'T.J. Hooker'.
8. What was the name of the very first episode of 'Starsky and Hutch' (not the pilot)?

Answer: Savage Sunday

The pilot was called 'Starsky and Hutch'; 'Savage Sunday' was the first episode of the first season of the show. The story began with some disgruntled old people, who had loaded their car with explosives and planned to detonate it outside the City Hall.

They wanted to draw attention to the poor living conditions in their old people's home. The car was stolen by thugs, who conducted armed robberies of liquor stores. Starsky and Hutch not only had to catch the robbers, but they had to find them before the car exploded. Suzanne Somers guest starred in this episode.
9. Was Aaron Spelling an Executive Producer of the 'Starsky and Hutch' series?

Answer: Yes

Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg were the executive producers. Spelling was well known for producing 'The Streets Of San Francisco', 'Charlie's Angels' and 'The Love Boat' amongst other things. Leonard Goldberg worked with Aaron Spelling on 'The Rookies' and 'Charlie's Angels', as well as several other series.
10. In which decade were the four series of 'Starsky and Hutch' first shown?

Answer: 1970s
