1. Who created "The $10,000 Pyramid"?

Answer: Bob Stewart

At one time, Bob Stewart worked for Mark Goodson and Bill Todman as they built their own game show empire. Though Stewart created several game shows over the years, only "The Pyramid" has endured.
2. In what year, and on which network, did "The $10,000 Pyramid" make its debut?

Answer: 1973, CBS

The Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City was the site of "The $10,000 Pyramid's" debut on March 26, 1973, on CBS. Actor Rob Reiner and actress June Lockhart were the debut guest celebrities.
3. Which is NOT the name of a bonus prize opportunity on "The Pyramid?"

Answer: Lucky 7

Beginning with "The $25,000 Pyramid" in 1982, bonus prize opportunities were added to the main game. A player who got the 7-11 bonus, for example, could win $1,100 in bonus money if they guessed all seven clues in a specific category within 30 seconds. On "The $100,000 Pyramid" (syndicated 1985-88 and 1991-92), the bonuses were not in play during the monthly Tournament of Champions.
4. Which of the following men has NOT hosted at least one incarnation of "The Pyramid"?

Answer: Chuck Woolery

Better known for hosting shows like "Scrabble" and "Love Connection", Chuck Woolery's resume does not include any incarnation of "The Pyramid".
5. Which company debuted an updated version of "The Pyramid", simply called "Pyramid", in 2002?

Answer: Sony Pictures Entertainment

With 70s variety show star Donny Osmond at the helm, "Pyramid" launched in syndication in 2002. Though retaining the same basic format, the sets and the game flow are radically different.
6. During "The Pyramid's" original network run, which celebrity set the speed record for reaching the top of the pyramid in the Winner's Circle?

Answer: Billy Crystal

A frequent guest on "The $10,000 Pyramid" during the 1970s, Crystal helped his civilian partner win the big money in only 26 seconds. The video of this record-setting moment can be found on a number of game-show-fan sites across the Internet.
7. Which star of the "Police Academy" movies won $10,000 as a "Pyramid" contestant in the 1970's?

Answer: David Graff

Before taking on the role of the gun-happy, high-strung Officer Tackleberry, the late David Graff paired up with actress Patty Duke to win the loot. He would later make numerous guest appearances on "The $100,000 Pyramid".
8. Between 1970 and 1988, "The Pyramid", in its various denominations, was nominated for the Outstanding Game Show Emmy sixteen times. How many times did it win?

Answer: 9

"The $20,000 Pyramid" won the Emmy for Outstanding Game Show in 1975-76, 1979-80 (tied with "The Hollywood Squares"), 1980-81, and 1982-83. "The $25,000 Pyramid" won the award four consecutive years (1983-84 through 1986-87) and again in 1988-89.
9. How many Outstanding Game Show Host Emmys did Dick Clark receive for his work on "The Pyramid"?

Answer: 3

At one time, Dick Clark could be seen hosting programs on the three major networks. On Saturdays, he hosted "American Bandstand" on ABC; on Monday nights, he co-hosted "TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes" on NBC; and during the week, he hosted "The $25,000 Pyramid" on CBS.
10. On the 2002 incarnation of "Pyramid", what would be considered a perfect score in the main game?

Answer: 18

One of the changes introduced in Sony's version of "Pyramid" is the number of clues each contestant is expected to guess correctly. Each contestant has only 20 seconds to guess six clues. With each contestant playing three categories per round, a perfect score would thus be 18.

In earlier incarnations, contestants had 30 seconds to guess at 7 clues; 21 would have been a perfect-game score back then.
