Answer: Baron de Batz

The Baron de Batz works with the Royalist party. He desires to get the monarchy back on the throne. He doesn't particularly care about the French people, unlike the Scarlet Pimpernel.
2. Sir Percy and Sir Andrew are in a horse race. Sir Percy asks Andrew if he wants to "... double his wager?" What is Sir Andrew betting on?

Answer: That Percy won't catch him

Andrew says "Right! A hundred guineas; you'll never catch him!" Later, Sir Andrew says that he never thought that Sir Percy would actually do it!

Answer: El Dorado

Baroness Orczy wrote "The Scarlet Pimpernel." However, many people don't know is that she wrote at least 10 other Scarlet Pimpernel books. The book "El Dorado" is about Armand St. Just and the rescue of the Dauphin.

When Marguerite goes home and discovers that Sir Percy is gone, she puts two and two together and realizes that it is her husband whom she betrayed.
