Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Radio Bart" sees Bart getting himself into which of these predicaments?

Answer: He falls down a well

Homer ends up buying Bart a microphone he can use on any AM radio for his birthday but he never really has interested in the gift until he realizes the pranks he can play with it. The biggest prank occurs when Bart puts a radio in an abandoned well and convinces Springfield that he's a young boy trapped inside. Things take a turn when, in an attempt to retrieve the radio (labeled with his name on it) he falls into the well and gets trapped inside.

It takes a crew, digging deep into the earth (and featuring singer-songwriter Sting) to get him out.
2. In "Like Father, Like Clown", Bart and Lisa help reconnect Krusty the Clown with his roots in what culture?

Answer: Jewish

Krusty, being somewhat forced to have dinner with the Simpsons for their repeated assistance in his life, reveals to them that he has regrets about his relationship with his estranged father, the Rabbi Hyman Krustofski, who never approved of his son's decision to become a clown. Ultimately, Bart and Lisa are able to convince Krustofski that entertainers have played an important role in Jewish culture and a reunion is held between father and son, live, on the 'Krusty the Clown Show'.
3. In "Saturdays of Thunder", does Bart win the final soap box derby race?

Answer: Yes

He does, but in Martin Prince's soap box derby racer. This episode involves the severely-lacking bond between father and son that Homer and Bart have and Homer's eagerness to be more of a hero in his son's life. To accomplish this, Homer builds a soap box derby racer with Bart so that he can race in the Springfield Derby.

Their racer turns out to be a bit of a dud, but Bart, eager to win, ends up taking over Martin Prince's racer when he's injured, winning the race and, eventually, getting his father's approval.
4. In "Black Widower", Sideshow Bob returns, this time seeking vengeance by marrying which Springfieldian?

Answer: Selma Bouvier

Selma meets Bob through a prison pen-pal program, falling in love with him through the mail and bringing him home to meet the family. Bart has his reservations about Bob though, since he sent him to prison in the first place, and his suspicions are confirmed when the two get married and go on honeymoon, allowing him to enact an elaborate murder. Ultimately, the Simpsons make it to the hotel in time ot save Selma and put Bob back behind bars where he belongs.
5. In "Stark Raving Dad", Homer ends up in an asylum with a man claiming to be what musician?

Answer: Michael Jackson

Homer, forced to wear a pink shirt to work at the plant, is forced to take a test to determine his mental stability. After it's left to Bart to fill out, Homer lands in a mental asylum, bunking up with a man who claims to be Michael Jackson. When word of this gets out, all of Springfield gets Michael Jackson fever, even renaming a major thoroughfare after the musician.

It's later discovered, however, that the man isn't Jackson but a man named Leon Kompowsky who, in the end, helps Bart create a song for Lisa's eighth birthday.
6. In "Lisa's Pony", Homer works a second job at what location to get Lisa her own pony?

Answer: Kwik-E-Mart

When Lisa claims that she hates her father for ruining her saxophone recital at school (by going to the bar instead of picking up a new saxophone reed for her), he decides to make things right by purchasing her a pony, picking up a second job at the Kwik-E-Mart to pay stable costs for her new pet, Princess.

In the end, Lisa realizes the sacrifices her father has made to make her happy and she gives up the horse to prevent her father from burning out on the overnight shift.
7. In "Homer at the Bat", does Mr. Burns end up putting Homer on the field during the championship game?

Answer: Yes

Homer wins, in fact, when the pitch strikes him in the head, counting as a hit and allowing his team to run home. The episode follows Mr. Burns' attempt to hire on a team of ringers, bringing American Baseball's best and brightest to the power plant to beat Shelbyville on the diamond.

This, of course, forces Homer to come to terms with the fact that he's not really good enough to play with the pros, but in the end Burns puts him up to bat as the final player in the final inning.
8. In "Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes?", Homer's half-brother, Herb, visits Springfield and creates a device which can translate which of these into English?

Answer: Baby-speak

In an elaborate cover-up to recompense Homer for sterility after years at the Springfield Nuclear Plant, the Simpsons come upon $2,000 for the 'First Annual Montgomery Burns Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Excellence'. At the same time, Herb Powell heads to Springfield seeking $2,000 to get himself back on his feet.

He does so, creating a baby translator and repaying the Simpsons for helping him out. In the end, Homer once again receives the respect of his half-brother.
9. In "Flaming Moe's", who actually created the drink which brought Moe to fame?

Answer: Homer

After Homer reveals a secret recipe for a delicious beverage involving fire and cough medicine, Moe hits it big, bringing more customers to his bar and even pulling in major musical acts like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but never letting Homer in on the financial side of things.

In the end, Homer ends up revealing the secret ingredient to everyone moments before Moe is about to sell off the recipe, and it spoils everything-- soon everyone is making 'Flaming Moes' around Springfield, and everything goes back to normal.
10. In "Colonel Homer", Homer becomes a manager for Lurleen Lumpkin. What does she do?

Answer: Sing

Heading out of town, angry after Marge embarrasses him at a movie theatre (though Homer had reason to be embarrassed), Homer stumbles upon a country bar and hears Lurleen Lumpkin sing for the first time. Unable to get her song out of his head he has her make a demo and eventually becomes her manager, springing her into the country music scene. Marge becomes worried, however, when it's clear Lurleen is trying to make the moves on Homer.

In the end, Homer chooses to leave his new job to return to his wife.
