2. According to the episode titled "My First Adventure", when was Indy born?

Answer: July 1, 1899

He was born in New Jersey and was named Henry Jones Jr. after his father. When he was nine years old, Indy got the chance to travel around the world with his parents, as his father held lectures in many different countries.
3. What was the name of Indy's governess during his worldwide adventures?

Answer: Miss Seymour

Miss Helen Seymour was a tutor at Oxford University in Great Britain, where Indy's father studied. He wanted the best tutor for his son. Neither Indy nor his new teacher were very thrilled about one another. Miss Seymour thought Indy was too young and Indy thought Miss Seymour was a "witch". However, as their journey progressed, they became very fond of each other.
4. While in Egypt, who did Indy meet and become very close friends with?

Answer: T.E. Lawrence

When Indy and Miss Seymour visited the Pyramids of Giza one day, their guide rode off with their camels and left them both stranded. Luckily, Ned Lawrence (as Indy calls him) happened to be traveling by on a bicycle and helped them build a fire and stayed with them for the night. Ned invited them on a dig with Howard Carter after telling Indy fascinating stories of archaeology and mummies.

While on the dig, they excavated the tomb of Kha, a VIP to an Egyptian Pharoah. During their stay, a murder took place, and Ned and Indy began an investigation to discover the killer.

After the two parted, they continued to keep in touch through letters.
5. What happened to Indy during his visit to Morocco?

Answer: He and his friend Omar were kidnapped and sold as slaves

In Morocco, Indy befriended a slave boy named Omar, who accompanied Indy on his journeys through the country. They learned of a man who was beheaded for his disrespect for the Sultan and his head was displayed in the marketplace as an example. Disobeying his parents, Indy convinced Omar to go with him to see the dead man's head.

While in the marketplace, they were both kidnapped and taken to the slave market to be sold. They were bought together for 500 rials by, luckily, a friend of Indy's father's, who had tracked them down and found them.
6. While on a trek through Africa, Indy had the opportunity to meet President Theodore Roosevelt and his son Kermit. What gift did the President give to Indy?

Answer: binoculars

Indy was too young to go with the President on his hunting expedition, so he was given a pair of binoculars so that he could enjoy the scenery. The hunting party was tracking a very rare species of antelope that was rumored to live in a certain part of Africa.

Indy made a promise to President Roosevelt that he would discover where they were. Indy made a local friend in a boy named Metou who helped Indy keep his promise to the President. They found an entire herd of them, caught two and let the others go.

When Indy and his parents left the adventure behind, Indy gave his binoculars to Metou.
7. In Paris, Indy and Miss Seymour visited the Louvre. What artist, who would be famous in the future, did Indy meet there?

Answer: Norman Rockwell

Norman and Indy became fast friends and together discovered the city of Paris when they met Pablo Picasso and his entourage. Picasso was impressed by Norman's talent when he copied one of Picasso's paintings. Because he was somewhat jealous of Edgar Degas's attention, Picasso wanted to prove that he could paint a picture that Degas would believe to be his own work and even sign his name as approval on the painting, which he accomplished very easily.

Then Indy went and sold the painting right away to a Degas collector. Even in the end, Miss Seymour, who did not like Picasso, was amazed at Picasso's work when he painted her portrait.
8. What was the name of the girl who Indy had his first crush on?

Answer: Sophie

All of the girls listed were love interests for Indy throughout his young life, but Sophie was the first girl to win his heart. She was the daughter of Archduke Francis Ferdinand - the same Archduke Ferdinand who would later be assassinated, marking the beginning of World War 1.

Indy met Sophie when they took equestrian lessons in a class together. They spent one special day together ice skating. That is, until Sophie's governess and Miss Seymour found them and broke them up. Indy was heartbroken when he was told he could never see Sophie again. Finally, one night, he bravely went up to the Archduke's front gate and demanded to see the Archduke to ask for Sophie's hand in marriage.

When he told Indy no, Indy sneaked through the palace and found Sophie's bedroom to tell her he was leaving and gave her a gift - a snowglobe with a boy and a girl ice skating. Sophie gave Indy a locket with her picture in it, which he kept with him and treasured for the rest of his life.
9. In the episode titled "Travels With Father", Indy and his father bonded together as they traveled through Greece. What place was their destination?

Answer: A monastery

While on their journey, Indy and his father got into many scrapes. First, they got in the wrong cab. Then, they decided to take a dip in the sea only to find a herd of goats ate their clothes. They had to hitch-hike to the monastery, which was hundreds of feet high on a cliff. To get to the top of the cliff, they had to take an elevator made of wood with a rope and pulley system.

When Indy and his father set out to leave the monastery, they boarded the elevator to go back down, and somehow the monk who was lowering them got hit in the head and was knocked unconscious, leaving the father and son stuck for almost an entire day in the dangling elevator two hundred feet from the ground. Even though Indy experienced these things, however, he did find time to learn about the ancient Greeks in association with politics, theatrics, philosophy and synergisms.
10. Apparently, Indy had a younger sister. What was her name?

Answer: Susan

We learn this in the episode where Indy traveled through China with his mother and Miss Seymour. Sadly, little Susan did not live past infancy. While traveling, Indy became very ill and they had to stop at a farmer's home that was two miles away from the nearest village.

Indy's mother sent Miss Seymour to fetch a modern doctor, who was in a larger village which was a three days' journey away. While awaiting their return, Indy became worse forcing his mother to fetch the local Chinese doctor, who arrived and administered acupuncture on him. Finally, the fever broke and Indy slowly got well.

Indy's mother showed the farmer's family her thanks by paying the debt on their farm.
