Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What best describes Jerry's background?

Answer: he's Jewish

Although it is mentioned in an abundance of episodes that Jerry is Jewish, it's interesting that it is not overtly clear whether Jerry actually follows Judaism. A few scenes, however, do seem to suggest it. For instance the time that Tim Whatley converts to Judaism and Jerry says "welcome aboard." Also, once George says "you don't hear that much about God anymore" and Jerry replies, "I hear things." Jerry might not be a rabbi, but it sounds like he makes it to the synagogue occasionally.
2. Tim Whatley converted to Judaism from this religion?

Answer: Catholicism

That's right, he used to be big time buds with the Pope (but not Raquel Welch)-ha.
3. Jerry suspected that Whatley wanted to be Jewish for what reason?

Answer: Joke telling immunity

"Which reminds me, did you hear the one about Rabbi and the farmer's daughter?"
4. What best describes Elaine's faith?

Answer: She's going to hell

Although Elaine doesn't believe in hell, she is very concerned when her boyfriend, Puddy, isn't concerned that he thinks she's going to hell. That's right, "relationships are very important to her," and Jerry suggests that she "strike one up with the prince of darkness as [she] burns for all eternity."
5. It is determined by a Priest that Kramer has a power called "Kavorca," which means the "lure of the animal" where women can't resist him. What does Kramer do to get rid of the "Kavorca"?

Answer: takes a vinegar bath and wears a garlic necklace

Seems odd that a person would want to eliminate a power where women can't resist you, but then again Kramer did at one point have to change his phone number because too many chicks knew his number.
6. During Mr. Peterman's hiatus from running the catalog, he heads off to the jungles of Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) leaving Elaine in charge of the catalog. While living in Myanmar, Mr. Peterman's status in the neighborhood has been described as:

Answer: white poet warlord

In a great scene that is a spin-off from "Apocalypse Now" or, if you prefer, "Heart of Darkness," Elaine actually visits Mr. Peterman in the middle of the Burmese jungle. He doesn't seem to be quite himself though, and Elaine even describes him as "the only white poet warlord in the neighborhood." Well, at least he didn't end up in the nuthouse like Lloyd Braun!
7. During "The Conversion," George thinks he's found his ideal woman. A problem arises, however, when her parents discover that George does not belong to their religion. In an attempt to win the approval of her parents, George converts to this religion:

Answer: Latvian Orthodox

Yes, despite his parents' objections, George actually converts to Latvian Orthodox. Naturally, things fall apart for George in the end when, after converting, the girl decides she's not ready for a commitment and moves to Latvia for a year.
8. Prior to converting to Latvian Orthodox, what aspect of the religion does George tell the priest he finds attractive?

Answer: he likes the hats

They definitely do wear some pretty nice hats...very pious! I think Elaine should put the hat in the next Peterman catalog; she could call it the Consecrated Cap and put it next to the "Urban Sombrero!"
9. In one episode we witness Kramer's friend Mickey get married for the fourth time. Because of the person who performs the ceremony at Mickey's wedding, we can surmise that Mickey is of this religious persuasion:

Answer: Catholic

At Mickey's fourth wedding, Father Curtis presides over the ceremony. Fr. Curtis is, of course, a Catholic priest so it would stand to reason that Mickey is also Catholic. Too bad Mickey's new wife, Karen, actually wanted to be with Kramer!
10. At one point in "Seinfeld" history Elaine develops "shiksa" appeal where "every able-bodied Israelite in the county is driving pretty hard for the hoop." Over the course of an episode many Jewish characters are attracted to Elaine, one asks her to marry him, and some even give up their religion. How many actually renounce Judaism?

Answer: 2

The two Lippman men are the ones that renounce their religion in hopes of attracting Elaine. Jerry actually asks Elaine to marry him, but changes his mind later after George "scares him straight" and Jerry is no longer sensitive and caring. Rabbi Glickman even tries to charm Elaine and invites her down to Myrtle Beach. Knowing Elaine's standards for men, I'm a little surprised she didn't go--after all, she does have an entire case of "Today Sponges."
