6. Which designer planned the multipurpose room for Natalie Maines, the lead singer of the Dixie Chicks?

Vern Yip decided to go with red satin for Natalie's multipurpose room, covering the windows and the bedding in that fabric. Hildi Santo-Tomas designed Natalie's mother's sewing room and worked with Natalie in that endeavor.

Answer: Frank

Frank Bielec designed a castle headboard for the regular bed and the dog bed in the episode 'Colorado: Stoneflower Drive'.
8. Which of these 'mishaps' did NOT really happen?

Answer: Dropping a homeowner's collection of glass bottles

All of these things have happened on the show except dropping a homeowner's collection of bottles. Gen used these blue bottles as the inspiration for a homeowner's kitchen. Doug Wilson discovered one morning that a mother-daughter team went on a date the night before and didn't do their homework. Hildi painted a homeowner's couch and accidentally left it in the rain. Paige was feeling generous that day and gave her extra money to purchase a new couch for them. Gen had two of the biggest practical jokers on one episode.

They threw an already defunct television down the apartment stairs to make their neighbors believe they had accidentally destroyed their brand new television.
9. Which person is notorious for almost ALWAYS wearing high heels while working?

Answer: Hildi

As Hildi says, 'My shoes ground me and I am used to wearing heels morning, day, or night.'
10. Which person on the show appeared on Broadway in the musical 'Chicago'?

Answer: Paige

Mindy Paige Davis starred in the travelling Broadway show 'Beauty and the Beast' where she met her husband and later appeared in 'Chicago' on Broadway.
11. Who decided it would be a good idea to turn a family's living room into an art deco movie theatre?

Answer: Doug

Only Doug could come up with an idea like that.
12. What British show is 'Trading Spaces' mirrored from?

Answer: Changing Rooms

TLC's 'Trading Spaces' is based on the half hour series 'Changing Rooms'.
13. Which designer has a degree in graphic design?

Answer: Genevieve

Only Gen has a degree in graphic design. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan while working as a designer for MTV.
14. Which designer used straw as a wall covering?

Answer: Hildi

Hilda Santo-Tomas used straw for wallpaper in the episode 'Oakland: Webster Street'.
15. There is a spin-off of 'Trading Spaces'.

Answer: True

There are actually two. One spin-off of 'Trading Spaces' is called 'While You Were Out'. 'While You Were Out' takes most of what 'Trading Spaces' is with one major catch-- there are no roommates or spouses trading spaces with their neighbors. All the work is done with one spouse or roommate.

The idea is to surprise the roommate or spouse, all 'While You Were Out'. The other spin-off is called 'Trading Spaces: Family'. Instead of just two friends or spouses designing each room, the whole family gets involved with one designer.
