The detectives have underlined Rust as a suspect in a few old murders and that of Reverend Tuttle. They question Maggie in 2012 and ask her about Rust. They ask her where he was in 2002 and if she remembered anything about him during that time. She tells them that she didn't have any contact with him after 2002.

The detectives go on to explain their suspicion of him. Maggie describes Rust as a man who knew himself and her ex husband Marty did not. She recalls to the detectives about Rust telling her that there was no such thing as forgiveness.

Marty buys a lot of sanitary items and goes to a bar to get a drink. A woman walks up to him and talks to him. She recognizes him as a cop and says she remembered him from 1995 when he came to the place she lived with other prostitutes to ask some questions related to the Dora Lange case. They talk outside the bar and end up having an affair.

This takes place in 2002. Marty and Rust are in the interrogation room with the woman. Rust asks Marty to leave the room. Rust then talks to the woman in an attempt to make her confess. He tells her about this condition and shows her proof that she removed the child's life support for a few seconds and killed the child. He gets a confession from her in writing and then warns her that prison will be terrible and that the media will pick her apart for being a child killer. After this interrogation, there is a tense moment between Rust and Marty with Marty telling Rust that he was the only one who stood up for him. Rust tells Marty to do his work and type the report he is supposed to.

Munchausen by proxy is a condition where a person deliberately hurts a person they love or care for in order to get sympathy and attention.

Answer: Regressive catatonia

Rust goes to meet this girl and the nurse tells her that she is pretty unpredictable. Rust would have to stop asking her questions and leave if she reacts aggressively. Rust asks her about the men who did bad things to her. Kelly tells him that the man with the scars was the worst.

This gives Rust the knowledge that there were three men. Kelly says that that man made her watch while he did bad things to Billy and that he was a giant. Rust asks her about his face and she has an outburst forcing Rust to leave.

The detectives tell him that they think that Rust is behind everything. They think that he has been killing a lot of people. The fact that he never left town increased their suspicion. They also tell Marty that Rust may have been involved in the death of Reverend Tuttle. Rust hears enough and leaves the room telling the detectives not to call him again and that he will not help them further.

Answer: She sees Beth's pictures on his phone

One day, Maggie goes to do laundry and finds the washer already running. She finds Marty's clothes inside and realizes that he is home. When Marty is in the shower, she tells him that she didn't know he came home and checks his phone to find raunchy pictures of Beth on it.

She keeps the phone back and agrees to Marty's plan for a date night. Maggie pretends like she knows nothing for the rest of the night.

Earlier in the episode, Rust meets a pastor named Austin who was involved with Tuttle's ministries earlier in his life. He now is an alcohol addict and not a pastor anymore. He tells Rust about a school in Tuttle's empire that covered up child molestation. The former pastor tells him about an incident where he saw obscene pictures of children in one Tuttle's buildings. He then left the ministry.

Tuttle tells Rust that Austin left because he mishandled money and his case was taken care on internally without police involvement. Tuttle asks Rust why he is there and he tells the Reverend that he wants to see some of the old files on the Well Springs program that closed down. Tuttle agrees and asks one of his people to show Rust the archives.

Later, Rust is suspended by his superiors after his meeting with Tuttle came to their notice. He was earlier warned to stay away from the case but he didn't.

Answer: That Marty won't be able to live with what they just did

Maggie sleeps with Rust on purpose to get back at Marty. Before this, she tries to find a man in a bar do what Marty did to her. She goes to Rust's place and tells him about Beth and how she can't do it anymore. The both of them then have sex and Rust asks her to get out of his place after he realizes her motive to get revenge on Marty. Maggie later tells Marty that she knows about Beth and that she slept with Rust.

Answer: In the police station parking lot

Marty gets really angry at Maggie after she tells him what happened between Rust and her. Rust comes to the station to get some files. Marty sees him there and runs out and tackles him to the ground. They exchange some punches before people come and separate them. Their boss takes them inside and asks them what is going on. Rust then tells the boss that he quits and walks out of the room, complimenting Marty for his punch.

At the end of the episode, in 2012, we see Rust asking Marty to meet him and he agrees.
