The audience was teased for weeks on end by Tony, who continually remarked on the various "guests" he was secretly holding prisoner.

The only imprisoned guest to ever be revealed, however, was Colin. While the role of Colin was reprised by actor Justin Melvey, he was strangely unconscious the few times he appeared on screen.

The attack of Tony at the Salem Circus was a momentous occasion for a number of reasons. Salem not only celebrated the birthday of Alice Horton. It was also a send-off for longtime cast member John Clarke, whose character Mickey Horton acted as the ringmaster for the circus.

The attack by Horton the Tiger was shortly followed by the revealing of The Salem Stalker to be Dr. Marlena Evans, who was first unmasked at Tony's bedside to give him a pseudo-lethal injection to keep him from revealing her identity as Salem's most notorious serial killer.

It was of course later revealed at Melaswen that Tony was behind the attacks (and merely convinced Marlena via hypnosis that she had murdered her closest friends) to take revenge on Marlena's husband John for having stolen Tony's wife Kristen Blake years earlier.

While Sami was rendered mute one fine summer, Tony used the silence to cozy up with her romantically, while at the same time employing Lucas Roberts as his right-hand man. Sami and Lucas eventually fell in love at long last, after a helpful nudge from Salem's greatest mischievous teen turned faithful wife, Julie Williams.
