Ross had a major crush on Rachel in high school. They dated for a while after she left Barry at the altar but it ended when Ross slept with another woman. They tried to make it work but their attempt was disastrous. Soon afterwards, Ross married Emily but when it came to the big day in London, Ross said Rachel's name instead of Emily's in the ceremony.

In a later series, Rachel and Ross got married, drunk, in Las Vegas and had to get a divorce. Then, a few seasons on, Rachel got pregnant with Ross' child after a one-night-stand and on the last episode of 'Friends' they got back together.

Ross has been interested in dinosaurs ever since he was a kid. He was a doctor at a museum and he was a professor at the college he taught at. He also wrote a book which was placed in the back section of the library where people came with their partner.

He was annoyed that people were only coming to this section to make out so he waited there to catch them out and along came Chandler and Monica.

They had all gone to the beach house and Rachel was still in love with Ross, who had gone with his girlfriend, Bonnie. Rachel convinced Bonnie to shave her head which Ross wasn't too keen on. Ross asked Rachel why she did it and she said it was because she never stopped loving him.

She said she couldn't get back together unless Ross knew how she felt. She wrote an 18 page long letter (front and back) asking if Ross could accept all the blame for them breaking up.
