Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What show's theme song began with "Now this is the story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down..."?

Answer: The Fresh Prince of Bel Air

"The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" was how Will Smith got started in show business. Will was born and raised in Philadelphia, but one day when he got in a fight with guys in the neighborhood, his mom made him move in with his aunt and uncle in Bel Air. The entire show is Will trying to fit in with his rich relatives after spending his life in Philadelphia.

"Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down, and I liked to take a minute, just sit right there, I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air.
In west Philadelphia, born and raised. On the playground was where I spent most of my days. Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool And all shootin some b-ball outside of the school, when a couple of guys, who were up to no good, started making trouble in my neighborhood, I got in one little fight, and my mom got scared, she said 'you're moving with your auntie and your uncle in Bel Air."
2. Fill in the missing lyrics from the "Boy Meets World" theme song. "It's good to know I have friends who will always ______, when this boy meets world."

Answer: stand by me

This theme song was in seasons 5-7, all the other seasons did not have words to the theme songs, only music. "Boy Meets World" has been one of my favorites for a while now. Cory starts the show off with his best friend Shawn, a girl named Topanga who he eventually falls in love with and marries, his older brother Eric, and his little sister Morgan. With the help of his parents and his loyal teacher Mr. Feeny, Cory realizes the important things in life and slowly begins to understand what he has to do to make his life work.

"When this boy meets world, boy meets world, wandering down this road we call life, is what we're doing. It's good to know I have friends that will always, stand by me, when this boy meets world."
3. The Diff'rent Strokes theme song goes, "It takes diff'rent strokes to move the world."

Answer: True

Anytime I'm in a bad mood and I turn on "Diff'rent Strokes" and I hear the classic Arnold quote, "What'chu talkin' 'bout Willis?" it always cheers me up. Edna Garrett is the Drummond's house maid for the first season, after that, she becomes the house mother on "The Facts of Life".

"Now the world don't move to the beat of just one drum, what might be right for you, may not be right for some. A man is born, he's a man of means. Then along come two, they got nothin' but their jeans. But they got diff'rent strokes. It takes, diff'rent strokes. It takes diff'rent strokes to move the world. Everybody's got a special kind of story. Everybody finds a way to shine. It don't matter that you got, not a lot. So what? They'll have theirs, and you'll have yours, and I'll have mine. And together we'll be fine. Because it takes diff'rent strokes to move the world, yes it does, it takes diff'rent strokes to move the world."
4. What show's theme song has the line, "I got my own mind, I do my own style, in my own time..."?

Answer: Sister, Sister

In "Sister, Sister", the twins Tia and Tamera meet at the mall when they are teenagers. Both of them were adopted, but by different people. After they meet, Tia and her mom move in with Tamera and her dad so that the twins could live together.

"Go sister, sister. Sister, sister, sister, sister. I got my own mind, I do my own style, in my own time. Now that everybody sees how different we have come to be. Sister, sister. Even though I'm glad to be with ya, I gotta feel what's real for me. Like you gotta do what's right for you. Sister, sister, oh, sister, sister."
5. Which show's theme song was "Everywhere You Look"?

Answer: Full House

"Full House" was how Candace Cameron Bure got started in show business. It was and still is a great show and it was fun to watch Michelle, played by the Olsen twins, grow up throughout the seasons. "Full House" will always be one of my favorites.

"What ever happened to predictability- the milk man, the paper boy, evening TV? How did I get to livin' here? Somebody tell me please. This old world's confusing me. With clouds as mean as you've ever seen, and a world that knows your tune, then a little voice inside you whispers, please don't sell your dreams so soon. Everywhere you look, everywhere you go, there's a heart, a hand to hold onto. Everywhere you look, everywhere you go, there's a face of somebody who needs you everywhere you look. When you're lost out there, and you're all alone, a light is waiting to carry you home, everywhere you look. Everywhere you look."
6. What show's ending credits has the line, "If you hear it from your brother, better clear it with your mother, better get it right, call her late at night..."?

Answer: The Facts of Life

Blair, Jo, Natalie and Tootie are the four main girls who grow to love their house mother, Mrs. Garrett. When Jo and Blair leave Eastland and go to college, the quartet move in with Mrs. Garrett at her new shop called "Edna's Edibles".

"You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have the facts of life. There's a time you gotta go and show you're growin' now you know about the facts of life, the facts of life. When the world never seems to be living up to your dreams, and suddenly you're finding out the facts of life are all about you, you. It takes a lot to get them right, when you're learning the facts of life. Learning the facts of life, learning the facts of life. You'll avoid a lot of damages and enjoy the fun in managing the facts of life, they shed a lot of light. If you hear it from your brother, better clear it with your mother, better get it right, call her late at night. You got the future in the palm of your hands, all you gotta do to get you through is understand. You think you'd rather do without you'll never make it through without the truth, the facts of life are all about you."
7. What are the missing lyrics to the "I Love Lucy" theme song? "I love Lucy and she loves me, we're as happy as ____."

Answer: two can be

"I Love Lucy" is definitely a classic. Lucy is always getting herself into trouble and trying to get into her husband, Ricky's, show at the night club. With their best friends, Fred and Ethel Mertz, "I Love Lucy" is a show that will never be forgotten.

"I love Lucy and she loves me, we're as happy as two can be. Sometimes we quarrel, but then, how we love making up again. Lucy kisses like no one can. She's my misses, and I'm her man. And life is heaven you see. Cause I love Lucy, and she loves me."
8. What show's theme's beginning line is, "Come listen to a story about a man named Jed..."?

Answer: The Beverly Hillbillies

In "The Beverly Hillbillies", another classic, Jed, Granny, Jethro, and Elly May move to California after Jed strikes oil while he is hunting one day. The whole show is about them adjusting to life in the city after being in nothing but the country their whole lives.

"Come listen to a story about a man named Jed, the poor mountaineer barely kept his family fed, and then one day he was shooting at some food, and up from the ground came a bubblin' crude. Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea. Well the first thing you know, old Jed's a millionaire, the kinfolk say 'Jed move away from there!' They say, 'Calaforni is the place you ought to be.' So they loaded up the truck and they moved to Beverly, Hills that is, swimming pools, movie stars, the Beverly Hillbillies."
9. What show's theme song tells you about how five passengers were only on a boat to go on a three hour tour and got stranded on an island?

Answer: Gilligan's Island

Gilligan and the rest of the crew were only supposed to go on a three hour tour when they got ship-wrecked on an island. The whole show was about them adjusting to the island and attempting to get off with minimal fighting.

"Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip that started from this tropic part, aboard this tiny ship. The mate was a mighty sailing man, the skipper brave and sure, Five passengers set sail that day, For a three hour tour, a three hour tour. The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed, If not for the courage of the fearless crew, The minnow would be lost, the minnow would be lost. The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle, with Gilligan, the skipper too, the millionaire and his wife, the movie star, the professor and Mary Ann, here on Gilligan's isle. So this is the tale of the castaways, there here for a long, long time, They'll have to make the best of things, It's an uphill climb. The first mate, and the skipper too, will do their very best to make the others comfortable in the tropic island nest. No phone, no lights, no motor cars, not a single luxury. Like Robinson Crusoe as primitive as can be. So join us here each week my friends, you're sure to get a smile. From 7 stranded castaways here on Gilligan's Isle."
10. What show's theme song is this line from? "Here's a story of a lovely lady..."

Answer: The Brady Bunch

"The Brady Bunch", another one of my favorites, is about a lady who had three girls, and a guy who had three boys who met and they became one big happy family... sort of. The kids have some trouble adjusting, but hey that's what the whole show is about, everyone adjusting to their new lives.

"Here's the story of a lovely lady who was bringing up three very lovely girls. All of them had hair of gold, like their mother, the youngest one in curls. Here's the story of a man named Brady who was busy with three boys of his own. They were four men living all together, but they were all alone. Till the one day when the lady met this fellow, and they knew it was more than a hunch, that this group would somehow form a family. That's the way we all became the Brady bunch. The Brady bunch. That's the way we all became the Brady bunch, the Brady bunch."
