Answer: Gachnar

Gachnar was a fear demon, and because of the imposing picture in one of Giles' books, Buffy was scared to face him. When he actually appeared, he was only about four inches tall. Giles had forgotten to translate the caption on the picture: "Actual Size."

I have gotten many complaints about this question, but according to IMDB, which FunTrivia recognizes as a correct source, and according to the series' official books "The Watcher's Guide" and "The Monster Book," the character played by Ara Celi is named "Ampata" not "Ampada."
