Answer: Penelope "Punky" Brewster

Penelope "Punky" Brewster was played by Soleil Moon Frye on "Punky Brewster" (1984). Brewster was abandoned at a grocery store by her mother. Her father had left her family when she was two. After she was abandoned she found a vacant apartment building and started living in it.

The manager of the building, Henry, heard her story and eventually became her adopted parent. The show followed Brewster as she learned to adjust to life without her parents and with Henry. The sitcom ran from 1984 to 1988.
