1. Who is the first person arrested over the shooting of Mr. Burns?

Answer: Smithers

Smithers is suspiciously one of few characters not stood around Mr. Burns after he is shot. He wakes up the following morning after drinking and smoking and realises he may have shot Mr. Burns. He remembers walking past Town Hall and shooting somebody, he tells the church this and is later arrested. Smithers realises he did not shoot Mr. Burns, and shot Jasper.

2. Which villain is seen in the prison cells when Krusty and Sideshow Mel go and free the arrested character?

Answer: Dr. Colossus

Sideshow Mel was at the town meeting and makes a speech. He takes note that Smithers watches a comedy. Krusty gets back to Springfield just before Burns gets shot and watches the comedy with Mel. Mel realises Smithers couldn't have shot Mr. Burns because at the same time, he was watching the comedy.

3. What is the name of the comedy Smithers, Mel and Krusty all watched?

Answer: "Pardon My Zinger"

Smithers is arrested and a journalist asks him what he feels like. He quotes from the comedy and Krusty becomes horrified that he stole his joke. Mel later points out that Krusty stole the joke from the comedy, and realises Smithers is innocent.
