Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Natalie White ("Survivor: Samoa")

Answer: Russell Hantz

Russell Hantz was viewed as a schemer who manipulated how the votes should go. Natalie was viewed as someone who was just along for the ride. However, Natalie was able to connect to other survivors on a personal level. Russell was also seen as arrogant. Since the jury wasn't pleased with Russell's attitude and saw Natalie's subtle gameplay, they voted for Natalie in a 7-2-0 decision over Russell (and Mick).

However, many viewers believed Russell's strategic gameplay should be awarded over his social gameplay.
2. Jenna Morasca ("Survivor: The Amazon")

Answer: Rob Cesternino

Jenna Morasca was viewed as someone who kind of bratty. She would also do little work around camp. Her four immunity challenge wins helped keep in the game, because some fellow contestants did want her out, even if she did win by a vote of 6-1 over Matt von Ertfelda. Rob Cesternino, who finished third, was a savvy player who is usually considered to reinvent the way "Survivor" is played.

He would make multiple smaller alliances to get him further in the game, and when the time came for a player to be eliminated, he would use another one of his alliances to help him. Rob was eliminated at the final three when Jenna (the one who had immunity and thus the only who could vote) voted him off, because she felt she couldn't beat him.
3. Freddy and Kendra ("The Amazing Race")

Answer: Kris and Jon

Freddy and Kendra were one of many teams throughout the various seasons of the race to bicker among them. In fact, most of the teams that made it the top half of the sixth season were bickering. Furthermore, they (mainly Kendra) complained about the countries they were visiting. Kris and Jon, on the other hand, were likeable, fan favorites, strong competitors, and were not a bickering team.

They finished second behind Freddy and Kendra in one of the closest finishes in the history of "The Amazing Race".
4. Flo and Zach ("The Amazing Race")

Answer: Ken and Gerard

Flo and Zach were seen as an unpopular team due to Flo constantly whining and complaining. Flo spent most of the race flirting with another racer (Drew of the team Derek and Drew) and appeared to do very little work on the race. However, Zach was likeable due to putting up with Flo. Ken and Gerard had a sense of humor about them and raced a surprising well race considering the other teams and the fact they weren't exactly the most fit.

Indeed, they raced just as well Derek and Drew (the team that nearly everyone else wanted out, because they seemed like the team that usually wins the race). Ken and Gerard made it to the final leg and ended up in third place
5. Dan and Jordan ("The Amazing Race")

Answer: Jet and Cord

Jet and Cord were fan favorites due to their good-natured Southern charm. Dan and Jordan were viewed as an average team. Many viewers got angry with Dan and Jordan when they cut in line to get airplane tickets in the final leg, despite there being nothing wrong with that (and no time advantage was gained since all teams were on the same flight anyways). Dan and Jordan ended up winning the race 25 minutes ahead of the second place team, Jet and Cord, which is one of the longest winning time gaps.
6. Taylor Hicks ("American Idol")

Answer: Chris Daughtry

Chris Daughtry finished in fourth place but had a more successful singing career than the winner Taylor Hicks. Chris Daughtry became one of the most popular contestants, not just of his season but throughout all "American Idol" seasons. His charm and excellent vocal talents led him to become a fan favorite with many wanting him to be the winner. Taylor ended up selling fewer albums than many other American Idol contestants (winners or otherwise). Furthermore, it was speculated that Taylor Hicks mainly appealed to older crowds rather than everyone like Chris.
7. Fantasia Barrino ("American Idol")

Answer: Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson finished in 7th place on "American Idol" despite a loyal fanbase and almost constant praise from all the judges. Her low placement was most likely due to the fact that she and another contestant (LaToya London) had similar singing styles and therefore the audience split the votes between the two of them.

After appearing on "American Idol", Jennifer became one of the most successful singers, even when compared with the winners. The eventual winner, Fantasia Barrino, was successful in the music industry just not as successful when compared with Jennifer.
8. Ruben Studdard ("American Idol")

Answer: Clay Aiken

Ruben Studdard beat Clay Aiken in the second season of "American Idol" by about 134,000 votes (one of the closest in "American Idol" history). In fact, despite coming in second place, Clay Aiken is the more well-known singer. Viewers believed Clay to be a better fit as a singer than Ruben.
9. Shin Lim ("America's Got Talent")

Answer: Courtney Hadwin

Courtney was a shy woman who surprised the judges with her singing and her dancing, even earning the golden buzzer from Howie Mandel. Her singing was said to make her a legend, and her dancing styles seemed to match the dancing styles of the artists who originally recorded the songs.

It was her talent combined with her naturally shy personality that won fans over. Eventually, she was eliminated in the finals. Shin Lim was a magician known for his close-up magic tricks, smoke appearing from seemingly nowhere, and for generally remaining quiet during his acts. Most viewers thoroughly enjoyed Shin's acts; they just preferred Courtney's singing over his magic.
10. Michael Grimm ("America's Got Talent")

Answer: Jackie Evancho

Michael Grimm, a singer, won the fifth season of "America's Got Talent" over Jackie Evancho, also a singer. While most viewers had no problems with Michael's performance, they felt Jackie was the better winner. This is because Jackie was a 10-year old singing at the level that many professionals do. Jackie has become one of the most successful post-show contestants.
