"Lou Grant" was a spinoff of "Mary Tyler Moore". Asner reprised his role of Lou Grant in the drama series. Ed Asner won two Emmys for Lead Drama Actor for his portrayal of Grant.

Jessica Fletcher, portrayed by Angela Lansbury, was a best-selling mystery writer on the series "Murder, She Wrote". She lived in the fictional town of Cabot Cove, Maine although her travels as an author took her all over the world. Angela Lansbury was nominated for 12 Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Series for her role as Jessica Fletcher but never won!
