1. What was on Billy's backpack?

Answer: dinosaurs

Billy's blue backpack had a dinosaur design on it. When he disappeared, Ronnie Purnell was left holding the bag. When Billy reappeared, Doggett unsuccessfully tried to use the bag to coerce Billy into telling him who had abducted him.

2. What did Sheriff Sanchez use to verify Billy's identity?

Answer: fingerprints

Though the fingerprints confirmed that Billy was the same boy who had disappeared 10 years prior, they couldn't explain how he hadn't aged!

3. What kind of animal did the Underwoods have?

Answer: dog

When they got Billy home, Mr. Underwood took him to the backdoor to show him his brother, Josh, and their dog, Sparky. Sparky came running at the glass door, barking and jumping at the boy through the door.

After his mom had tucked him in, Billy got out of bed and went to Josh's room with a knife. In the morning, Mrs. Underwood went to check on Billy and found his bed empty, so went to check on Josh, only to find a bloody hunting knife stuck in the mattress next to Josh. However, they found that Josh wasn't wounded and the blood on the knife was Billy's.

After Sheriff Sanchez showed Scully and Doggett the symbol, he told them about the police psychic who'd come up with the same symbol when Billy had disappeared 10 years prior. Then Scully showed the two men that Billy had drawn the symbol all over his paper while being held in police custody.
