'You're the Worst' - 1.2 'Insouciance' Quiz

Gretchen and Jimmy are lying in bed when she tells him that he is losing hair. Jimmy asks her why she would say that and Gretchen tells him that she's practicing to be honest like him. She goes on to tell him that she is a big liar and that she lied to get tickets to the Spice Girls' concert. Jimmy tells her that it is smart economics to lie to get free stuff but lying to spare someone's feelings belittles all the people involved.

Edgar is watching the classic Matthew Broderick and Jimmy joins him. Edgar tells Jimmy that he rented the DVD and Jimmy mocks him saying he doesn't know where one can even rent a DVD anymore. They then start talking about the movie and discuss who they think is the villain. Jimmy says that Alan Ruck's role as Cameron is the villain but Edgar disagrees saying that Cameron is the sidekick.

They then go on to talk about Gretchen and Jimmy tells him that they aren't meeting for a few days. Edgar then tells him that it's great that Gretchen is happy with what Jimmy is giving her and not wanting more like other girls.

Gretchen and Lindsay are talking about her night with Jimmy while sampling different flavors of frozen yoghurt with Lindsay's husband Paul (Allan McLeod). Lindsay tells Gretchen to be careful of Jimmy as he is a soul vampire. They keep trying different flavors to the annoyance of the server and they leave without buying anything.

After Gretchen leaves, Paul tells Lindsay that she is mean to him when she is around. Lindsay soothes him by saying that Gretchen is lonely and that she is lucky to have him.

Jimmy goes to the library with Killian and tries to put copies of his book 'Congratulations, You're Dying' on the Staff's Picks corner. The store manager sees him and confronts him. Jimmy complains that it's not nice that the library does not support a local writer.

They then talk about the new woman in his life and the manager asks Jimmy what is wrong with this woman who is with him. She then tells the receptionist to throw him out the next time he comes around. Jimmy then walks out of the library leaving Killian behind.

While waiting at the restaurant for their reservation, Jimmy brings over some drinks for himself and Gretchen. They then try to strike up a conversation but are visibly uncomfortable until they both have a synchronized outburst at two people who walk in between them, nudging them both.

A bearer then leads them to the table which turns out to be a communal one to which Jimmy makes a fuss. They sit at the table and a staff member comes over and explains to them the concept of the restaurant.

Answer: Becca and Vernon walk in.

Gretchen and Jimmy have a conversation about how Jimmy was being inappropriate while discussing her period. Gretchen actually refers to her period as the Detroit Red Wings being in town as she didn't want other people at the communal table to understand.

She then sees Becca and Vernon and walks out. They walk up to Jimmy and talk to him. He asks them about their honeymoon and Becca tells him that it's only next month and that this was the busy period for Vernon. Vernon then tells Jimmy that he's sorry about what happened during the wedding. Becca and Vernon didn't see Gretchen.

Answer: His parents are afraid that he'd turn into a Youtube celebrity if he had one.

Edgar finds Killian sitting on a bus stop bench under a building labeled LG Market. Edgar tells Killian that he was looking for him everyone and that parents didn't like that he drove around playgrounds over and over. He tells Killian that Jimmy didn't mean to forget him at the bookstore.

He then tells him a story of a translator during his time in Iraq and how funny he was. He then tells him that they put up videos of him on Youtube and the insurgents found out about him and killed him. He then takes Killian to get something to eat.

Gretchen tells Jimmy that it would've been horrible if Becca and Vernon had seen them together. She tells him that she wasn't all that mad about the whole 'period' conflict. She tells him she knew what she was getting from him when she started seeing him. Jimmy tells her that the restaurant was horrible but Gretchen disagrees and says that she loves fancy places like that and that she has eaten there before. Jimmy then tells her that he is still hungry.

It was really funny how during this conversation, Jimmy referred to the communal table as 'commune tabes' and says that he got it from Vernon.

Answer: Movie theatre

The couple go to a theatre to watch 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'. Gretchen says that she doesn't like the character of Cameron from the movie and Jimmy agrees with her. They then proceed to open their food and eat it, making a lot of noise in the process.

The people seated in front of them tell them to turn it down but the couple responds angrily and asks them to mind their own business. People seated behind them also go further back to get away from the noise the couple is making.

Gretchen goes to the library to check if they have enough copies of Jimmy's books under presumably Jimmy's orders. The store manager then figures out that she is Jimmy's new squeeze. Gretchen then comes back to the car in which Jimmy is waiting and has colorful things to say about the manager. She then shows Jimmy the cat that she stole and wonders if Killian needs a cat.
