Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What's the name of the snake (not the charmer) found in Gobi's Valley?

Answer: Histup

You'll find Rubee the snake charmer and his snake Histup inside the pyramid with the Kazooie target on the top. You'll need to make an offering of three eggs out of Kazooie's backside into the bowl circling Histup's basket. This will cause Histup to pop up and stretch himself upwards, allowing you to climb up and retrieve the Jiggy.
2. What musical instrument do you play with Motzand in Mad Monster Mansion?

Answer: Organ

Once you've safely made it into the church and caught your breath, climb up onto the giant organ to have a chat with Motzand, a big ghostly hand who tests your musical ability and rewards you with a Jiggy. Once you're done, Motzand will disappear from the church.
3. In order to progress deeper into Gruntilda's Lair, what will you need to unlock various numbered doors?

Answer: Notes

Many gateways to further chambers of the lair are blocked with Grunty's magic in the form of note doors. Unless you have the requisite number of notes as indicated by the number on the door, you won't be able to pass. Scour each level you're in for all 100 notes so you don't have to backtrack later and have to collect them all again to get the ones you missed.

The final four note doors are found in Dingpot's chamber before fighting Grunty and contain permanent increases to your egg, feather and honeycomb capacities.
4. In Click Clock Wood, to which character do you feed caterpillars?

Answer: Eyrie

You'll first meet Eyrie the eagle in spring when he hatches from his egg. Obviously hungry and with his mother nowhere in sight, you'll need to track down caterpillars scattered across each of the four seasons. Revisiting Eyrie in each season will see him grow larger until he's as big as he'll get in winter and you'll get a Jiggy as a reward for your stellar parental skills.
5. Along with blue, orange, green and purple, which other colour belongs to a Jinjo that needs rescuing in each world?

Answer: Yellow

Forty-five Jinjos, five per world, can be found throughout the game. At first, they'll be fairly easy to spot but will become progressively more difficult to find in later levels. You'll always be able to tell if you're near a Jinjo, though, as you'll hear its distinctive cry for help. Collecting all five in a world gets you a shiny Jiggy. Your efforts are not in vain, however; the combined power of the Jinjos in the form of the Jinjonator help you land the final blow on Grunty when you're fighting her at the top of her lair.
6. Topper can be found in Spiral Mountain as part of your basic training at the beginning of the game. What sort of vegetable is Topper?

Answer: Carrot

Once Bottles has taught you a few moves to get you going, he'll summon forth a few giant vegetables to help you test your skills. Topper the carrot, Bawl the onion and Colliwobble the cauliflower can be found around Spiral Mountain, seemingly unbothered by the fact that they're little more than sparring partners for you.
7. Which of these coloured Gruntlings can't you find throughout Gruntilda's Lair?

Answer: Orange

Gruntlings are the funny-looking minions you'll find wandering around parts of Gruntilda's Lair. If they spot you, they'll let out a characteristic grunt, wave their arms in the air and shuffle towards you. Red Gruntlings are the weakest and only need one hit before they cark it. Blue Gruntlings are slightly more hard-wearing but can be dispatched just as easily after two hits. Black Gruntlings are the meanest and require a full three hits before they shuffle off their mortal coil.
8. What belongs to Mumbo in the title of the first world of the game?

Answer: Mountain

Formally Mumbo Jumbo, this helpful character is a shaman who was cursed by Grunty and had his head changed into a skull. He'll willingly transform you into a variety of things across the game, in exchange for a few of his Mumbo tokens, of course. One day, he hopes that Grunty's magic will be undone and he'll return to being a (self-described) handsome shaman.
9. Which boss do you fight in the depths of the ship in Rusty Bucket Bay?

Answer: Boss Boom Box

Once you've figured out how to access the hold of the Rusty Bucket, you'll come across Boss Boom Box and immediately leap into a fight. He'll split into two smaller versions of himself the more he's hit, and each one of those will split into two as well.

The disposal of fifteen boxes signals the end of the fight and victory for the bear and bird. Oh, and there's a golden, jigsaw puzzle piece-shaped prize in it for you too.
10. Take the first letter of each of the previous nine answers (for answers with more than one word, use the first letter of the first word). They'll spell out the answer to this question: What is the basic unit of health for Banjo and Kazooie?

Answer: Honeycomb

It seems only appropriate that Banjo, a honey bear, is sustained by honeycombs. Most enemies will drop a honeycomb when defeated and you'll occasionally find a hive that'll contain three honeycombs and a swarm of angry bees. On your travels, you may find some hollow honeycomb pieces hidden away in each of the worlds. Every six of these that you find will increase your maximum health by one honeycomb.

There's six to find in Spiral Mountain alone, with a further two in each of the nine worlds in Gruntilda's Lair. Bizarrely, only eighteen of the twenty-four hollow honeycomb pieces will contribute towards an extended health bar.

In the penultimate area in the game before facing Grunty herself, you'll be able to double your health bar by turning it red if you have 882 notes to pass through the door and have the four Jiggies required to complete the jigsaw puzzle inside.
