Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Ratchet ventures through the Molonoth Fields in search of the Lombax rebel on which planet?

Answer: Torren IV

To reach Alister Azimuth, the Lombax rebel, at his base on Torren IV, Ratchet has to pass through the Hollow, a sanctuary-cum-factory for Vullards, a race of junk-collecting creatures who, on this occasion, have a problem with rogue battery bots. Ratchet rounds up these bots and returns them to their receptacles to restore power to the conveyor system and exit out the other side of the Hollow. Upon finding Azimuth, Ratchet comes under attack from the old Lombax, who believes Ratchet to be an assassin using a Lombax hologuise as a disguise.
2. After Ratchet and Captain Qwark crash land on the planet Quantos, Ratchet helps one of the local Fongoids locate her three missing children. What is the name of this Fongoid mother?

Answer: Enessa

Until Ratchet and Qwark (but mainly Ratchet) locate Enessa's missing children in the surrounding areas, they are unable to gain entry to the Fongoid village to find a way off the planet. Two of Enessa's children are threatened by Zyphoids, and one is stuck in an area affected by strange time fluctuations.

When the family is reunited, she allows the duo entry to her village by asking Chief Alpheus to let them all in. It's only then that her name is revealed, when Alpheus wonders why she and her children are outside the village walls. Alpheus then shows Ratchet and Qwark to the Temple of Zahn, where Ratchet collects an ancient artefact that can capture Zoni.
3. When Ratchet is in his ship, he can choose one of four radio stations to listen to. Which character from the previous two 'Ratchet and Clank' games can be heard hosting on the Pirate Radio station?

Answer: Rusty Pete

With his co-host Captain Romulus Slag, Rusty Pete runs the Pirate Radio station, which primarily plays rock music. The other radio stations include Deep Space Jams (which features smooth jazz and upbeat big band music), House of Synth (for those with a taste for electronic/house music) and Polaris Classical (which, as the name suggests, plays classical music).

The radio stations play licensed music, with the exception of Polaris Classical, which plays music composed by Boris Salchow, who also scored the rest of the game, taking over from David Bergeaud who had scored all previous entries from the very first 'Ratchet & Clank' right up to 'Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty'.
4. Which of Ratchet's weapons creates a wormhole which sucks enemies into it and feeds an alien creature called Fred?

Answer: Rift Inducer 5000

The original Rift Inducer made its first appearance in 'Ratchet & Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal' where it created small spherical rifts that sucked in nearby enemies, shocked them with electricity, and also combined with other rifts to create larger, more powerful fissures.

At level 5, it upgraded to the Rift Ripper. In 'Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time', the Rift Inducer 5000 takes a different approach. It opens a single rift, the other side of which resides an alien with an appetite for pretty much anything hostile. Fred, as the engineers behind the weapon call him, reaches out with his tentacles and snaps up any enemy unlucky enough to be in range of him.

At level 5, the weapon upgrades to the Rift Ripper 5000.
5. Who is the Lombax rebel, found at the Molonoth Fields?

Answer: Alister Azimuth

Once friends with Ratchet's father, Kaden, Alister Azimuth, a former member of the Lombax Praetorian Guard, initially proves hostile towards Ratchet, leading him along a perilous grindrail course. Upon seeing Ratchet's resemblance to his father and realising the truth, Azimuth proves to be a valuable ally, helping Ratchet on his journey to find Clank and the Great Clock.

However, Azimuth's true desire to use the Great Clock to rewind time and save the Lombaxes from the Cragmite menace sees Ratchet and Clank fighting to prevent him from misusing the Great Clock.

As Orvus always said, the Great Clock must not be used to change time, only to keep it. Despite this, though, Clank is able to utilise the clock and go back in time by six minutes to save Ratchet from dying at the hands of a power-hungry General Azimuth.
6. Of the five sectors of the Breegus System, which one is home to the Agorian Battleplex and the planet Zanifar?

Answer: Korthos Sector

When Ratchet first enters the Korthos Sector, his first destination is planet Lumos, where he can find an Obsidian Eye, a device capable of pan-galactic communication. Zanifar is the duo's second port-of-call in the Korthos Sector, where they investigate time disturbances and travel between the present and the past, rescuing Fongoids and undoing Doctor Nefarious' work.

The centre of arena combat, the Agorian Battleplex, can also be found in this sector, along with seven explorable moons and satellites.
7. Which of the three Valkyries hired by Doctor Nefarious is, shall we say, the manliest of the three, voice-wise?

Answer: Libra

For reasons unknown, Libra has a distinctly male voice unlike her sisters, Carina and Cassiopeia. The three Valkyries are hired by Doctor Nefarious to quash Ratchet's efforts to find and rescue Clank. Libra guards the way to planet Lumos, while Carina protects planet Vapedia, the home planet of the Valkyries, and Cassiopeia duels with Ratchet atop the Valkyrie Citadel on that same planet. Snookiebear is mentioned briefly during the game, having met a Terachnoid online (with the name Warlock) and falling in love.
8. Which Vullard-designed gadget of Ratchet's can manipulate Breegus nectar, oil and water?

Answer: OmniSoaker

Functioning in much the same way that the Hydrodisplacer did in 'Ratchet & Clank', the OmniSoaker is able to absorb quantities of fluid from conduits and deposit it elsewhere, in order for Ratchet to advance through an area. Oil soaked up by the OmniSoaker can remove rust from objects, while water can revitalise certain plants and Breegus nectar can lure and distract the ravenous Tetramites that inhabit the subterranean cave systems of the Breegus system.

This gadget is given to Ratchet by a Vullard on the planet Lumos, as he and Azimuth search for the Obsidian Eye.
9. Where do Ratchet and Clank rendezvous with Qwark (who is pretending to be a nurse called Shannon) and take control of the Hypernova Defence Laser?

Answer: Nefarious Space Station

During their first visit to the station, Ratchet and Clank are captured by Nefarious, attached to the Asteroid Flinger 5000 and flung across space, eventually crash-landing on the planet Morklon. Later, when they return to the space station, Ratchet and Clank fight their way through Nefarious' guards to find Qwark masquerading as Nurse Shannon.

The trio then break into the station itself (with a scene reminiscent of a certain 'Star Wars' film), sabotage the Hypernova Defence Laser system and ultimately defeat Nefarious before the station is destroyed.
10. If you're confident that you've got the previous nine questions correct, take the first letter of each answer (for answers with multiple words, just take the first letter of the first word) and answer this question. Lord Vorselon, the head in a suit who seemingly can't get enough of battling Ratchet, is what type of creature?

Answer: terraklon

Lord Vorselon first appears during Ratchet and Qwark's impromptu visit to the Fongoid Village on the planet Quantos when Aphelion crashes. Vorselon starts an invasion and kidnaps many of the Fongoids, who are later saved by Ratchet when he infiltrates Vorselon's ship. Ratchet later returns to the ship when Alister Azimuth is kidnapped, and again Ratchet faces Vorselon in battle.

After completing the game and collecting all forty Zoni scattered across the Breegus System, Vorselon challenges Ratchet one last time. Vanquishing Vorselon for good opens access to the Insomniac Museum, where you are able to explore the behind-the-scenes of the game and experience some features that didn't make the final cut.
