Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these Pokémon cannot learn Teleport?

Answer: Solosis

Teleport is a move that will, when used, instantly let you escape from a wild Pokémon battle. It will also take you to the last Pokémon Center used outside of battle. Elgyem can learn it from breeding whereas Natu and Ralts learn it naturally.
2. Which of these Pokémon has Sabrina, the Psychic-type Gym Leader of Kanto, never used?

Answer: Drowzee

Sabrina uses a Level 50 Abra in Pokémon Yellow. She uses a Hitmonlee for whatever reason during her second match in "Pokémon Stadium 2", despite being a Fighting-type Pokémon. She utilizes a Wobbuffet during her rematch in "Pokémon HeartGold" and "Pokémon SoulSilver". She has used Hypno in "Pokémon Stadium" and "Pokémon Stadium 2", but never a Drowzee.
3. Which of these Psychic-type moves is not new to the fifth generation?

Answer: Trick Room

Trick Room was a move (TM92) introduced in "Pokémon Diamond" and "Pokémon Pearl", and when used, the order of which Pokémon attack is reversed for five turns. In other words, slower Pokémon go first and faster Pokémon go last. Ally Switch lets a Pokémon switch places with the Pokémon on the other end if in the end position of a triple battle. Stored Power's power increase the more stat boosts the user has. Synchronoise hits all Pokémon the same type as it, but fails if there are none.
4. Three of these are the only three physical Psychic-type moves. Which one of these moves isn't physical?

Answer: Psystrike

Psystrike (exclusive to Mewtwo) and Psyshock are special moves, but the damage is based off the opponent's defense instead of special defense. Zen Headbutt and Heart Stamp can make the foe flinch, and Psycho Cut has a high chance of scoring a critical hit.
5. What is Cresselia's exclusive move?

Answer: Lunar Dance

Lunar Dance will faint the user, but the next Pokémon sent out is fully restored, with full HP, max PP, and healed of status conditions, similar to Healing Wish. Moonlight, although it can be learned by Cresselia, is a move several other Pokémon can learn that heals you. Crescent Dance and Lunar Wish are not real moves, although the translated Japanese name for it is Crescent Moon Dance.
6. Which of these is a Psychic-type Pokémon with two types?

Answer: Sigilyph

Sigilyph is a Psychic/Flying type with no evolution line, new to the fifth generation. Unown can only learn Hidden Power, Espeon is the Psychic evolution of Eevee, and Musharna is the evolved form of Munna, also new to the fifth generation.
7. At Level 17, Natu learns a Psychic-type move that lets it attack while ignoring evasion and accuracy stat changes. It also lets it hit Dark-type Pokémon with Psychic-type moves. What is this move?

Answer: Miracle Eye

Foresight is a similar Normal-type move, except it will let Normal-type and Fighting-type moves hit Ghost-types. Future Sight is a powerful Psychic attack that will hit the target three turns later. Mind Reader will ensure that the user's next attack will hit.
8. Which of these is not a Psychic-type trainer?

Answer: Steven

If you've beaten "Pokémon Ruby" or "Pokémon Sapphire", you should know that Steven is the Steel-type champion and that Tate is one of the twin Psychic-type Gym Leaders of Mossdeep City, brother to Liza. Will is the first of the Elite Four in the second generation, and his special type is Psychic. Also a Psychic-type, Caitlin is the third of the Elite Four in Unova.
9. Which of these is not a type that is super-effective against Psychic-types?

Answer: Poison

Psychic-types only have those three weaknesses (Bug, Ghost, Dark). Psychic is actually super-effective against Poison-types, not the other way around.
10. How many Psychic-type legendaries are there? (Note: Legendaries count if there is only one and it cannot breed. Different forms do not count as separate Pokémon, but legendaries that are Psychic-type in only one form do count.)

Answer: Fourteen

They are Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Celebi, Latias, Latios, Jirachi, Deoxys, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Cresselia, Victini, and Meloetta (Aria form). There are more Psychic-type legendaries than any other type, and there are at least two Psychic-type legendaries introduced in every generation up to the fifth.
