Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How much does a fishing rod or net cost?

Answer: 500 bells

You can buy either of these along with many other tools and furniture at Tom Nook's store. These are essential for catching bugs and fish.
2. Which of these fish can be found in a river?

Answer: Dorado

Zebra Turkeyfish are found in the ocean (400 bells) along with Blue Marlins (10000 bells!) whereas Giant Snakeheads are found in ponds (5500 bells). The dorado can be sold for 15000 bells but is very uncommon and hard to catch!
3. Where do you find a walkingstick?

Answer: On trees

The walkingstick is most commonly known as a "stick insect". This bug can be sold for 600 bells at Tom Nook's.
4. How many types of dragonfly are there that you can catch?

Answer: Three

The three types of dragonflies are: Elusive Banded Dragonfly, Red Dragonfly, and Darner Dragonfly. The Darner is the most common and is coloured bright green.
5. What does the Barred Knifejaw look like?

Answer: Black and white stripes

Barred Knifejaws have been given the nickname of "jailfish". They often have yellow fins and tail feathers.
6. What three fish can be found in the ocean?

Answer: Jellyfish, Pufferfish, Olive Flounder

Crawfish, frogs, and kilifish are found in holding ponds. Giant Snakeheads, gars, and catfish are found in ponds whereas Arapaimas, bluegills, and goldfish are found in the river.
7. What is the only bug that can be found under rocks?

Answer: Pillbug

To catch a pillbug you have to hit the rock with a shovel or an axe and if you are lucky you might get a pillbug. Pillbugs have hard shells like crabs and have gills which gives them the right to breathe in water.
8. Whereabouts can you find a bee?

Answer: In trees

Be careful when attempting to catch a bee. It is a good idea to have insurance as you could get stung (OUCH!). To catch one, you must shake a tree and a hive will fall out. You must quickly trap the hive in your net.
9. What month(s) can you find a salmon in?

Answer: September

Both the salmon and king salmon can only be found in September. These fish are found in the river.
10. What is the only fish that sells for 7000 bells?

Answer: Tuna

Bitterlings sell for 700 bells, Hammerhead Sharks for 12000, and King Salmons are priced at 1800 bells. Tuna fish are extremely popular as canned food!
