Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many different events are found in "Athens 2004"?

Answer: 25

25 events in Aquatics (like the 100m breaststroke), Archery, Athletics (like the 100m dash), Equestrian, Gymnastics (like the vault), Skeet Shooting and Weighlifting (clean and jerk) are found in "Athens 2004".
2. You are able to choose from 64 countries when picking a nationality.

Answer: True

Countries from the United States to the United Arab Emirates are featured in this game. Countries from six continents can be chosen for your athletes.
3. Which company was the creator of "Athens 2004"?

Answer: 989 Sports

Sony's 989 Sports also created sports game series like "NFL Gameday" and "NBA Shootout". These series were often unsuccessful because of better competitors.
4. Which of these is NOT an event included in "Athens 2004"?

Answer: Diving

Equestrian is one of the hardest sports in the game, with the control stick used to direct your horse and L1 to jump over the barriers. Diving was included in "Sydney 2000", but left out of "Athens 2004".
5. How many different stadium venues are found in "Athens 2004"?

Answer: 7

Each of the seven different categories of sports have a different stadium for the events to take place in, including the Panathinaiko Archery Stadium.
6. Which of these buttons is not used in the 100 metre dash?

Answer: Square

L1 is used for the set position and for leaning at the finish line. X and Circle are mashed alternately to gain speed. This is also the same for the hurdles (with L1 also jumping), 200m, and 400m.
7. How long are each of the four swimming events?

Answer: 100m

The 100m breastroke, backstroke, butterfly and freestyle swimming events are in "Athens 2004". They all use X and Circle to swim, and L1 to breathe.
8. There is a create-an-athlete feature in "Athens 2004".

Answer: False

Suprisingly, 989 Sports neglected putting a create-an-athlete feature into "Athens 2004". This seems to always be left out of track and field games, and what most players miss.
9. Which button can alternatively be used for L1 in events like the 100 metre dash and the 110 metre hurdles?

Answer: R1

L1 and R1 can be interchanged in most events. One can be more comfortable for certain people, but I prefer L1. X, Circle, L1, and R1 are the only buttons used in the track portion of the game.
10. Which of these is NOT a mode available in "Athens 2004?

Answer: Pentathlon

The party mode is new as it uses the dance mat found on "Dance Dance Revolution" games for events like the 100m dash.
