1. In 1-3, Water's Edge Way, the first room is a stairway around and above a waterfall. In front of the waterfall is an island Mario can walk onto. There are two flowers, but what else is on this island?

Answer: Two invisible blocks above the flowers

The flowers indicate that there may be something invisible between the two flowers or above the flowers themselves, perhaps an invisible block or a place where Mario can paperize a sticker into a ? Block. The block on the left has a Line Jump sticker and the one on the right contains a Shell sticker. Generally, if there is a seemingly empty space with flowers, there is either an invisible block or a place where Mario can paperize a sticker. If a circle of six upturned flowers are in a circle, then most likely Mario can paperize a sticker into the air above the center of the circle of flowers.

However, don't be fooled by circles of five flowers, as Mario cannot paperize a sticker there.

2. In the second room of 1-3, Kamek and two Goombas will fight Mario. The battle is quite easy, and the Comet Piece is already in sight. However, Kamek decides to be evil, and removes a piece of the stage to stop you from reaching the Comet Piece on the island. What does he take away?

Answer: The Comet Piece itself

Kamek crumples it and throws it far away, blaming it on Mario because he didn't catch it when he was supposed too. Kersti gets angry and tells Mario to go looking for where the Comet Piece landed. Once he has it, he must paperize it back into place so he can move onwards.

3. Continuing through 1-3, after traveling south from the inaccessible Comet Piece, there is another waterfall connecting to the one from the first room. If you walk straight into the waterfall from the bridge, you end up in a cave with what else inside it?

Answer: A secret Comet Piece goal

The secret goal will lead Mario to 1-5, Whammino Mountain. This will allow Mario to reach 1-6, Goomba Fortress, without having to complete 1-4, Hither Tither Hill. This will also mean that Mario is not required to find the other Comet Piece and complete the level. And If Mario exits the cave where the Comet Piece lies, he will exit from the waterfall onto some rocks below the bridge which he entered the cave.

4. Near the end of 1-3, in the room with the Comet Piece, the Comet Piece is bouncing upon a fountain of water streaming from the ground. On the ledge above is a Bowser face spouting the water into a hole below. If Mario goes behind the Bowser head, he will discover what Thing spouting the water through the face?

Answer: Faucet

If Mario jumps a few times on top of the Faucet, it will fall out and the water and will begin to fall on to the drainage sewer, stopping the water from running out of the Bowser face. The Faucet can be made into a sticker that can do lots of damage and perhaps make enemies soggy. Mario can now jump down the holes to reach the Comet Piece so he can paperize it into the proper place where he can get it and continue.

5. The level after 1-3 level is 1-4, Hither Tither Hill. There is a Toad that Mario can rescue by bringing it back to Decalburg. He will tell Mario what the Goombas in front of the windmill were saying. This turns out to be a secret code. What is the code?

Answer: 4123

Getting the Toad back is harder than it seems, as he can't jump over the fence around the ledge he is on and will run away if he touches an enemy. The Toad lives in one of the houses in Decalburg. If Mario visits him after he brings him back, he will give Mario a Mushroom sticker and tell him the Goombas were chanting, "Forwon Toothree!" which can be deciphered easily into 4123.

When Mario enters this code into the blocks in the windmill, a pipe will rise, giving Mario access to the Pipe scrap which he must paperize back into place.

6. After going down a pipe which Mario paperized back into place, a giant Buzzy Beetle, the boss of 1-4, falls from the roof of the cave. With the exception of Thing stickers, what sticker is needed to defeat this boss?

Answer: POW Block

The Buzzy Beetle has 40 HP and cannot be hurt unless it is flipped over with a POW Block sticker. It is then helpless and can easily be damaged. It gives you an HP-Up Heart after defeating it. Flipping over Buzzy Beetles, or any shelled creatures like Koopas and Spiny Tops, will render them harmless and will allow you to hurt them without trouble.

7. In 1-5, Whammino Mountain, a power-up returning from a previous game appears. If Mario gets it, he will be able to defeat all the Spinies with ease. What power-up is this?

Answer: Starman

When Mario has the effects of the Starman, he will instantly kill any enemy he touches, getting coins and sometimes stickers. He must then continue, set off a chain reaction of land-altering events, retrieve the White Gate, paperize it into place, and reach the Comet Piece.

8. Finally, Mario reaches 1-6, Goomba Fortress. Very soon, a Goomba on a faraway tower will notice him. What Thing does he use to awake the Bob-ombs for attack?

Answer: Trumpet

The Trumpet is the only one of those that is actually a real Thing. The Bob-ombs will rain down on Mario and he must run to avoid them. The Bob-ombs will sometimes drop Bomb stickers when defeated. Later, before the boss battle, the Trumpet will be left alone, free for Mario to obtain for himself. It has the size of a normal sticker when turned into one.

9. The boss of 1-6 and all of World 1, Megasparkle Goomba, is extremely overpowering for a first world boss. However, one Thing sticker, when used at the right time, will effectively split up the boss and let Mario have an easy victory. What Thing sticker is this?

Answer: Fan

If Mario uses the Fan sticker right after the boss uses the attack where individual Goombas fly at you, when the boss is showing all sixteen Goombas, the Fan sticker where blow them all apart, causing them to fall to the ground, leaving only the main Goomba standing on top of them.

His defense will be extremely low and Mario can defeat it with probably just a couple of stickers. Either way, afterwards, the other fifteen Goombas will run away, leaving the one Goomba with the Royal Sticker to fight you.

It only has 1 HP and does the same damage as a normal Goomba. After winning, Mario can grab the Royal Sticker to finish World 1, also getting a new album page for storing stickers as well.

10. Somewhere in World 1, Luigi was resting in the background. Which level was he in?

Answer: 1-6 Goomba Fortress

Luigi appears once in the background of the first five worlds. In 1-6, Goomba Fortress, he was sitting on a castle in the background in the room with the entrance to the inside of the main tower, where the boss is. Mario can peel him out of the background, where he will run away. If Mario peels Luigi out of all five locations, he will lead the ending parade when the credits roll.
