Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Bomberman I", why did White Bomberman want to go to the surface by escaping the underground compound?

Answer: Because there was a rumor that stated if a robot gets to the surface, it would turn into a human

The storyline never appeared until it was written for the NES version. Bomberman was engaged in the production of bombs in a factory, but he was never tortured there.
2. If the timer in "Bomberman I" runs out, what will happen?

Answer: Approximately twenty "Pontan" enemies will appear

The player has 200 seconds to complete a level in "Bomberman I". If the timer runs out, twenty Pontan enemies will appear and Bomberman must defeat them. Pontans are very fast enemies which can cross destructive walls and they can chase down Bomberman, but they won't appear in the main levels until very later on (if the timer hasn't run out yet).
3. If the bomb explosion touches the exit door, what will happen?

Answer: Extra enemies will appear as a punishment

This happens with the power-ups, too. They disappear and let off enemies, so you must be careful where you put bombs.
4. Which of these is NOT a power-up in "Bomberman I"?

Answer: Increasing the size of your bombs

Bomberman could walk through walls and be invincible for a short while and with increased speed if he collected the power-ups. The speed-increasing power-up was only found in Stage 4. Bomberman couldn't make bigger bombs until later.
5. Why did White Bomberman go to prison in "Bomberman II's" intro?

Answer: Because Black Bomberman left a bag of money he stole next to him and White took the blame

Black Bomberman stole the money from a bank, then he placed the bag next to White Bomberman right when the police came. Then, White started the game in the jail area. Black Bomberman is defeated after beating the game.
6. Which one of these enemies is based on a ghost and appears in "Bomberman II"?

Answer: BakeBake

BakeBake is an enemy that appears in "Bomberman II" and based on a ghost. Why? Well, the word "Bake" is probably based on the word "obake", which means "ghost". PukuPuku is the Japanese name of the badnik Jaws, which appeared in Sonic the Hedgehog and it's based on a piranha. PakuPaku is a "Bomberman" enemy that is based on a snake and did not appear in "Bomberman II". BowuBowu isn't even an enemy, the name was randomly chosen.
7. In which Stage did the enemy 'Pass' first appear in "Bomberman I"?

Answer: Stage 14

Pass is a cat-like enemy that is also known as "Parse". It's a fast enemy which often chases Bomberman. It first appeared in Stage 14, along with the enemy Doria.

In Stage 4, the enemy "Minvo" appeared, and in Stage 48, Pontan appeared (without waiting for the timer to run out). Bomberman consisted of only fifty levels, so Stage 57 doesn't exist.
8. In "Bomberman I", how many points are the enemies "O'Neal/Onil" worth?

Answer: 200

O'Neal is the second enemy that appeared in the classic game. It's an onion-like enemy which is quicker than Baloom and can start chasing Bomberman if he's too close.
9. What colour is O'Neal?

Answer: Blue

O'Neal is blue "Bomberman" and "Bomberman II". It has a white top.
10. Which is the correct order of the area types in "Bomberman II"?

Answer: Jail, Forest, Mountain, Swamp, Cave, Jail

Bomberman is in Jail in Area 1, then he escapes towards the forest, which is Area 2. Then, he goes to a mountain cliff in Area 3, where he finds a swamp for Area 4 and a cave for Area 5, but it seems he was back in Jail again in Area 6.
