Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many matches does it take to unlock Ness in "Brawl"?

Answer: Five

Ness can use PK Crush, PK Thunder, PK Fire, and the PSI Magnet. His Final Smash is PK Starstorm. Ness made his debut in 1994 in "Earthbound".
2. In what level of The Subspace Emissary does Luigi join your team?

Answer: Subspace

Luigi can do the Luigi Cyclone, Super Jump Punch, Green Missile, Fireball, and even has a taunt that (while it only does 2% damage) is an amazing attack. Since Luigi is always number two to Mario he takes twenty-two matches to unlock, is twenty-second in sound test, and his crowd chant only consists of two people!
3. Which of the following characters will not be unlocked when The Subspace Emissary is cleared?

Answer: Toon Link

To get Toon Link, go back into The Forest and go into the new door. Wolf and Jigglypuff are the same, just in different levels. For Wolf you revisit The Ruins. To get to Jigglypuff, head to The Swamp.
4. In "Melee," where in "Star Fox 64" do you hear Fox's victory theme?

Answer: Mission Accomplished

In "Star Fox 64," when a level is a mission accomplished, the same music would play. In some cases if the mission was only complete, the same song would play.
5. Which character is NOT a veteran fighter in "Brawl"?

Answer: Diddy Kong

Diddy Kong is the new fighter. Peach, the Ice Climbers, and Mr. Game and Watch debuted in "Melee". Diddy Kong has a variety of attacks including a banana peel which can make enemies trip and his trademark Peanut Popgun. His Final Smash allows him to fly around the stage freely, shooting his two Peanut Popguns. Diddy Kong is one of five characters who uses their Final Smash in a cutscene during the Subspace Emissary.

The other four characters are Ike, King Dedede, Captain Falcon, and Olimar.
6. Which character was in the original game?

Answer: Pikachu

The twelve characters from the first game are (in no particular order): Mario, Luigi, DK, Link, Samus, Pikachu, Ness, Jigglypuff, Captain Falcon, Fox, Kirby, and Yoshi (whew!).

Fun Fact: The original "Smash Bros." started out not even involving Nintendo!
7. What is Lucas' Final Smash?

Answer: PK Starstorm

PK Starstorm is an attack that does what the name implies. Stars fall from the sky and if they hit, they are devastating! Ness can use PK Starstorm, but he and Lucas use them with subtle differences. Ness' fall at an angle, are spread out, and cause 20% damage. Lucas' are closer together, fall straight down, and cause 14% damage.
8. Who debuted in "Brawl"?

Answer: Ike

Ike was the new "Fire Emblem" representative. Marth returned, Roy was removed, and Young Link was replaced by Toon Link. Ike uses his Final Smash in a Subspace Emissary cutscene. When he disarms the Ancient Minister, you can hear him shout "Great... Aether!"
9. Which of these is the lightest character?

Answer: Pichu

Pichu is light. It can only cause damage with electric attacks which damage Pichu. Pichu's moveset contains Thunder Jolt, Skull Bash, Agility, Thunder, and more. Pichu first showed up in "Smash Bros." during "Melee". Pichu is Pikachu's unevolved form.
10. In "Brawl", which character has a different victory theme from everyone in their series?

Answer: Meta Knight

Sonic and Mr. Game and Watch are their series' only "Brawl" representatives. Meta Knight's victory theme is an electric guitar version of Kirby and King Dedede's theme. That theme is the theme that plays when a "Kirby" level is cleared.
11. Ike can damage himself with his own attack.

Answer: True

Ike can cause 10% damage to himself. If Ike uses fully charged eruption, Ike will hurt himself. No charge only hurts opponents.
12. Which attack does no damage?

Answer: F.L.U.D.D.

Mario's F.L.U.D.D. is only good for knockback-- no damage. F.L.U.D.D. was Mario's only Power-up in "Super Mario Sunshine". F.L.U.D.D. stands for Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device.
13. In the "Brawl" stage Green Hill Zone, you can see "Sonic" characters other than Sonic himself in the background.

Answer: True

In the loop in the background, cameos can be seen from Silver, Tails, and Knuckles. You can see them going upside-down on the loop.
14. In "Melee", how many matches does it take to unlock Mr. Game and Watch?

Answer: 1,000

Mr. Game and Watch takes 1000 matches. In "Brawl", he takes 250. In "Melee", Mewtwo takes 700. Mr. Game and Watch debuted in a series of portable games also called "Game and Watch".
15. To unlock Pichu in "Melee," you must complete which event?

Answer: 37

Event #37 is called Legendary Pokemon. In this event, you have to KO your opponent with Pokeballs that only contain Legendary Pokemon (or Wobbofets).
