Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these NPCs can not be found in Harrogath?

Answer: Tyrael

While Malah is the only one of these NPCs which will have a substantial bearing on your quests and actions, Deckard Cain will continue to identify items for you in the center of town at no additional cost and Larzuk will be the primary armor and weapon trader in this Barbarian city. Qual-Kehk will be the mercenary hirer for the city. Tyrael, though he appears after you defeat Baal for the first time, will not show up in the walls of Harrogath at all.

The only town he was a permanent fixture in was Pandemonium Fortress in Act IV.

He also appeared in Tal Rasha's Chamber that the very end of Act II, following the defeat of Duriel.
2. In the 'Stop the Siege' quest, who do you need to defeat?

Answer: Shenk the Overseer

Emerging from the city under siege, Harrogath, you can make your way northwest through the Bloody Foothills of Act V in order to begin the first quest, 'Stop the Siege' (aka. 'Siege on Harrogath'). In order to finish this quest, you simply need to eliminate the vicious Shenk the Overseer at the last little part of the Bloody Foothills near the entry to Frigid Highlands.

Shenk will be an Extra Strong enchanted demon (and as difficulties progress he'll remain the same). After completing this straightforward quest, you can return to Harrogath to speak to Larzuk who, as a reward, will offer to socket any one of your items.
3. In the 'Rescue on Mt. Arreat' quest, how many Barbarians must be saved?

Answer: Fifteen

There's more than fifteen Barbarians which can be found in separate pens on Mt. Arreat in the Frigid Highlands, but once you break open the gates to their confining prisons (something which, evidently, they can't do on their own) they'll immediately warp back to Harrogath and the safety of a poorly-guarded city.

After finishing this quest, you can return to Harrogath as well and attain your reward from Qual-Kehk, three runes (Tal, Ral, and Ort) and the ability to hire Barbarians as your personal mercenaries (something that you are unable to hire a new class of in Act IV).

This quest is not necessary to advance the storyline, but many find benefit in its rune reward as it creates a Rune Word which allows for an added resistance bonus.
4. Who must be saved in the third quest of Act V, 'Prison of Ice'?

Answer: Anya

When you speak to Malah and advance northward to the Arreat Plateau, you can continue to the Crystalline Passage (one of Act V's waypoints) and then to the Frozen River. The aim of 'Prison of Ice' is to locate Anya, one of Harrogath's citizens, in the ice of this region. Once you find her frozen solid, you'll need to warp back to Harrogath and speak to Malah to obtain a potion to thaw her out. Once this is complete, Anya will return to the city and she'll award you a custom-made, class-specific item made by Larzuk. Malah will also give you the Scroll of Resistance which will permanently raise your Resistances by 10% (for a combined total of 30% over three difficulties).

This will also trigger quest four.
5. The fourth quest takes players to Nihlathak's Temple. What coloured portal do you need to enter to get here?

Answer: Red

After completing 'Prison of Ice' and saving Anya, she will open the portal to Nihlathak's Temple in Harrogath and you can being to complete quest four, 'Betrayal of Harrogath' in which you must kill a previous citizen of Harrogath, Nihlathak, by progressing through the dungeons of his temple, the Hall of Anguish, the Hall of Pain, and the Hall of Vaught. Once on the final floor, Nihlathak, a minion-summoning and Ice Enchanted boss, can be fought and defeated to complete the quest.

After finishing this, you can speak with Anya once more to get one of the less thrilling rewards of the game, the ability to personalize one item with your name.

This has minimal effects on the game and the quest could be avoided if you so choose without affecting the rest of the Act.
6. Which of these areas contains a waypoint?

Answer: Hall of Pain

The Hall of Pain is the second of three floors in the dungeon found in quest four, Nihlathak's Temple. Abaddon, the Pit of Acheron, and the Infernal Pit are all dungeons found throughout the different explorable areas of Act V (before you enter the ice caves).

Much like with Nihlathak's Temple, all of these areas are accessed through red portals, but only the one created by Anya in Harrogath will advance the storyline through the 'Betrayal of Harrogath' quest. This quest is not required to complete the game, but it is listed amongst the others for the Act.
7. How many Ancients must be defeated in the Act's fifth quest?

Answer: Three

The fifth quest, 'Rites of Passage', takes players to Ancient's Way at the end of the labyrinthine caverns of the Crystalline Passage and plots them on top of a cliffside known as Arreat Summit which contains the strong bosses known as the Ancients, Madawac the Guardian, Korlic the Protector, and Talic the Defender. Each of these is much stronger than most previous bosses and each features a different enchantment or bonus. Defeating all three and finishing the quest will result in a very large experience boost, often leveling up a character once or more in one go.

The quest is obtained from Qual-Kehk in Harrogath if it doesn't trigger for you automatically.
8. Where is the final Waypoint in the game?

Answer: Worldstone Keep

Found on the second level of Worldstone Keep, this is the final chance for you to reach Harrogath without a Town Portal and vice versa. The area contains some of the most difficult enemies of the game and will act as the home stretch before coming face-to-face with the last boss of the game, the Lord of Destruction himself.

At the end of the Worldstone Keep, a group of guardians (one from each Act) will appear in waves before you can enter the Throne of Destruction. These include bosses from Fallen Shaman, Greater Mummies, and the High Council as well as Balrogs. The final quest will trigger itself when you enter Worldstone Keep.
9. Who must be defeated in order to complete the game's final quest?

Answer: Baal

Baal, the Lord of Destruction, is the third and final Prime Evil of "Diablo II" and his defeat will mark the end of the game. When you enter the Throne of Destruction, Baal will be waiting for the final battle and he will make use of his many strengths, auras, and enchantments to get the job done.

When players finish him once and for all, the final quest of Act V, 'Eve of Destruction', will finally be over. Tyrael will open a red portal for the player to enter and the game will be complete. Well done!
10. You've just beaten Act V in Hell difficulty on Hardcore Mode. What title did you just collect?

Answer: Guardian

Players without the "Lord of Destruction" expansion pack will achieve these titles by completing Act IV of the game and beating Diablo, the second of three Prime Evils. On the other hand, those with the game will need to wait until they defeat Baal and enter the portal to Destruction's End before they are handed the final title. Progressing through Normal, Nightmare, and Hell on Normal difficulty will give 'Slayer', 'Champion', and 'Matriarch' or 'Patriarch' respectively while beating them on Hardcore mode (meaning you can not die at all in your playthrough of the game) will result in 'Destroyer', 'Conqueror', and 'Guardian' in that order.
