As the name suggests, Whimsyshire is a magical place in "Diablo III" that is fun to visit. It is not an easy task to get there, though. It is an homage to the famous secret cow level from "Diablo II".

2. What is the name of the special staff that grants you access to the secret level?

Answer: Staff of Herding

In order to gain access to the secret level, you must acquire the plans for assembling a special staff. This staff is called, "The Staff of Herding." The staff may be obtained by collecting items along with plans for the blacksmith. The blacksmith will then manufacture your special staff which will grant you access to the secret level.

3. How many items are required to assemble the special staff? (Note: The number of items does not include the blacksmith plans.)

Answer: Five

You will need five special items to manufacture the coveted staff. Of course, you will also need to teach the blacksmith how to manufacture the staff from the plans. Once this is done, you will have a staff that grants you access to the secret level.

Answer: Black Mushroom

The Black Mushroom is the item you need. You may have to run through the first level of the cathedral a few times before you encounter a patch of mushrooms. Click on the patch and the mushroom is yours. Put it in your inventory for safekeeping.

As the name suggests, this item may be found in Leoric's Manor. It's in the fireplace. The fireplace must have logs in it for you to find the item. If there are no logs, then you have to reset the game and try again until the logs appear. Once you grab the piece, put it in your inventory and continue your quest.

You can find this item in the Dahlgur Oasis. If you have not come across this item in your previous travels, then you are in for a genuine quest. There are two random events which must occur at the same time. First, you must find Zaven the Alchemist. There are two constant places for him to spawn. Once you find him, you must also hope that your explorations of the cave will reveal the mysterious chest. Once you have done this, you will be rewarded with the most coveted Liquid Rainbow.

8. Another elusive item is a gem. Yes, it is a gem and it is definitely elusive. It is quite garrulous, though. What is the name of this magical item?

Answer: Gibbering Gemstone

The Gibbering Gemstone is very hard to get. If you have found it, then consider yourself fortunate. You must first find the proper cave. The Caverns of Frost are the caves you should be searching. A similar cavern appears half the time upon entry into the Fields of Slaughter.

It's random. Further, you must find the elusive creature called Chilatra, who only appears randomly and likes to hide in the crevices of the cavern. Once you find and defeat Chilatra, you may claim the gem.

Answer: Izual

Izual is a formidable foe whom you must defeat in order to obtain the plans for the staff. Izual only rarely drops the plans after defeat. So, you will have to be persistent and patient. Once you have the plans, you may take them to the blacksmith with the other items and have your staff crafted. Now, you are ready to enter the secret level.

I hope you find the secret level in "Diablo III". It is an interesting diversion and quite a quest. It took me about seven hours to gather everything and I was lucky in most respects. It is worth the quest, I think. The secret level is quite humorous and entertaining.
