Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the original "Diablo" game for PC, what is the name of the tavern's barmaid?

Answer: Gillian

Gillian lived with her Grandma on the edge of town. The men of the town, especially Griswold, were protective of her. Despite their age difference, Wirt had a huge crush on her and wanted to give her gold and jewels.
2. In the original "Diablo" game, how many special items would Griswold have for sale at any one time?

Answer: Six

The "Diablo: Hellfire" expansion game increased that to fifteen items. The selection varied but usually included about half the items as weapons and the other half as armor.
3. Which one of these character type choices was not available in the original "Diablo" game?

Answer: Bard

The Bard was not originally available in the "Diablo: Hellfire" expansion game. However, by changing the games set-up files, that character and the Barbarian could be added.
4. The object of the original "Diablo" game was to defeat Diablo himself. Who were his brothers that you had to defeat in the later versions of "Diablo"?

Answer: Mephisto and Baal

Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred, was the penultimate boss to beat in "Diablo II" while Baal was the final boss to beat in "Diablo II: Lord of Destruction". Nosferatu is a vampiric name, and Christian Bale is an actor.
5. In the "Diablo" series, what was Mephisto's title?

Answer: Lord of Hatred

Diablo was the Lord of Terror and Baal was the Lord of Destruction. Phil was the Prince of Insufficient Light. He appeared in "Dilbert" comic strips, and is the brother of Dilbert's pointy-haired boss. He is the ruler of Heck and wields a large spoon instead of a pitchfork.
6. Which new character class was introduced in "Diablo: Hellfire"?

Answer: Monk

The Bard and Barbarian classes were only available after the user enabled a special text file edit in the "Hellfire" installation directory. There was never a character class of Bandit in any of the "Diablo" games.
7. In "Diablo II" and "Diablo II: Lord of Destruction", which character class specialized in melee fighting and defensive auras?

Answer: Paladin

The Amazon wasn't a pure melee fighter as she could throw spears or javelins, and use Bows for ranged fighting. The Sorceress and Necromancer were magic users not generally suited for melee fighting.
8. In "Diablo II: Lord of Destruction", what city do you start in for Act V?

Answer: Harrogath

Gamorra is one of the evil cities destroyed in the bible. Tristram is the city in the original "Diablo". Hogwarts is the name of the wizarding school that Harry Potter attends.

Harrogath is populated by the Barbarians, and is besieged by Baal's armies.
9. In "Diablo: Hellfire, you need a Rune Bomb to blow up the entrance to the Hive for a quest. Who do you get the Rune Bomb from?

Answer: Adria

Adria the witch has the Rune Bomb while Griswold is the town blacksmith. Pepin is the town healer and Wirt a delinquent child with access to black market items.
10. Which "Diablo" game was not supported on Battle.net?

Answer: "Diablo: Hellfire"

"Diablo: Hellfire" was produced by Sierra On-Line, while the other games were produced by Blizzard North (also known as Blizzard Entertainment). Blizzard also supported "Starcraft" and "Warcraft" games on Battle.net too.
