Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. OK then, you've won all four races in Dino Domain and completed the other tasks; it's time to meet (and beat) the first boss. What species of dinosaur is he?

Answer: Triceratops

The triceratops is surprisingly fast and agile for such a big creature, I find the racers with good road-holding, such as Pipsy, do best against him. Don't worry if you are behind him near the end; he slows right down just before the finish as though he wants you to win.
2. The boss's track in Dino Domain is of a spiral nature.

Answer: True

This track is a spiral uphill course which begins at the foot of a mountain peak and finishes near the summit. There is a relentless left-hand bend and if you stray right then you are likely to fall off the cliff.
3. When you have beaten the dinosaur boss for the first time, what does he challenge you to do next?

Answer: The Silver Coin Challenge

You have to win all four races again but collect eight silver coins as you are racing. You then have to beat the triceratops for a second time but the course is made more difficult. The other three bosses present you with similar challenges.
4. Now it's onto the icy world of Snowflake Mountain where the boss is well-used to the freezing conditions. What type of creature is awaiting your challenge?

Answer: Walrus

The walrus' course is downhill all the way and you must race using a hovercraft. The heaviest racers do best here such as Banjo, Timber or Drumstick (if you have him in your team). Providing you do well in the tunnel with those really tight bends, the walrus is fairly easy to beat.
5. Onto the watery world of Sherbet Island, where the boss is an octopus. This race is three laps around his island on a hover. When you race him for the first time he releases mines to impede your progress.

Answer: True

The octopus releases mines which explode if you hit them, but they are not released randomly so you can identify their positions and avoid them. With a good boost start it is possible to stay in the lead for the whole race, try using Banjo, Drumstick or Crunch. If the octopus goes into the lead, collect two red balloons and shoot him, this slows him down a lot.
6. When you race the octopus for the second time, what does he release to slow you down?

Answer: Bubbles

The bubbles pose much more of a problem than do the mines: it is very difficult for you to get into the lead at the start as the octopus traps you in a bubble which holds you up for about a second, long enough for him to get a good lead. Bide your time, learn where the bubbles are likely to be, use the boosts and the missiles and you can take him on the third lap.
7. The next world is Dragon Forest, where the boss is a fiery dragon. Which vehicle do you use to race him?

Answer: Plane

You have to race in a plane, the dragon gets a flying start, in both senses, so you have to come from behind to beat him. He's not actually that fast but it's a tricky course; use a medium weight racer: Diddy or Bumper and watch out for the fireballs.
8. How many windmills are situated on the dragon's course?

Answer: One

There is only one windmill on the course; the temptation is to fly around it but, if you are brave and skillful enough, fly through the gap at the base of the windmill-it contains a blue boost balloon.
9. Now you have beaten the dragon on both occasions and completed all of the other tasks, it is time to meet the big boss-Wizpig! He greets you with which boast?

Answer: "You can't beat me!"

"You can't beat me!" roars Wizpig and after you have lost a few times you start to think he's right. As you might expect it is the toughest course in the game with plenty of traps and narrow chicanes; Wizpig quite enjoys trampling you as well!
Use your favourite racer, make sure you hit every boost and miss every trap, if you put in three near perfect laps then you might get to see the 'mighty' Wizpig stamp his feet in frustration at losing.
10. Job done! Head on down to the beach where there's a great party going on. Of course the spiteful Wizpig comes along to spoil things. How does he make his getaway?

Answer: In a spaceship

Wizpig's spaceship spoils the party by shooting at the players. Wizpig climbs on board and then he flies away! If you think that's the end, then think again; you have to follow him to another world where a new set of challenges await you.
