Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Whenever you go into most bodies of water be prepared to be greeted by Snacker, the shark who patrols Treasure Trove Cove. What sound does Snacker make when he talks?

Answer: teeth chomping

When Snacker appears it is very obvious because some ominous music will state his arrival. If you're unlucky enough to land in the open ocean with nothing near around to climb up on to, Snacker will keep pursuing you until you're put out of commission. Snacker can be defeated temporarily by shooting eggs at him but you'd be best to swim away from him.
2. How many items, in order to get 100% completion, must be obtained by diving into Snacker-infested waters in Treasure Trove Cove?

Answer: two

The two items you need are the Blue Jinjo and an extra honeycomb. The Blue Jinjo you can see when you enter the level. To make this easy, Flap Flip off the back of the dock, after collecting the four notes. Then dive down and nab the Jinjo and swim to shore before Snacker can get you.

The extra honeycomb is down at the bottom of the ocean near where the Orange Jinjo was. Snacker will most likely take a bite of you but swim back to shore before he gets a second taste.
3. Once you enter the cove, you will see a beached ship. This ship belongs to Captain Blubber. What kind of animal is Captain Blubber?

Answer: hippo

Clams, crabs, shark, and a hippo...which one doesn't belong in a beach setting? Captain Blubber is the captain of the Salty Hippo. When he talks he makes a belching noise. He's crying because he lost his gold in the hull of the ship. Captain Blubber makes another appearance in "Banjo-Tooie," also for the N64, in Jolly Roger's Lagoon.
4. In the hull of Captain Blubber's ship, which of the following can not be found?

Answer: red feathers

It would be kind of difficult to get Captain Blubber's Jiggy if there were no pyramids of gold bars. The two entrances to the hull are on the deck of the ship and on the side in the small pool of water. There is no need to worry because there is no Snacker in this pool of water. Captain Blubber can't swim which is why he didn't get the gold himself.
5. Once again there are five Jinjos to collect. Where can a Jinjo not be found?

Answer: in a Monster Chest

The Blue Jinjo is found underwater under the dock that the Start/Exit Pad is on. The Pink Jinjo is on a Shock Jump Pad near where Bottles teaches you about them. The Orange Jinjo is on a narrow ledge near where the mines patrol pools of water. The Green Jinjo is found on the very top of Captain Blubber's ship.

The Yellow Jinjo is found on the top of one of trees surrounding the lighthouse. You won't find a Jinjo in a Monster Chest but you'll find other useful items such as musical notes and a Jiggy.
6. If you go to the left when you first enter the world, you'll come across a large hermit crab, which isn't mean until Kazooie insults it. What attack is used to defeat this hermit crab?

Answer: Rat-a-tat-rap

Nipper the hermit crab is the boss of the world. Like Conga, he needs to be hit three times to be defeated. You have to stand real close to Nipper to hit him. He will snap your claws at you and when he stops you need to go up to him quickly and peck his eyes. If you don't stand close enough, when he stops snapping his claws he'll start again when you go closer to him.

When Nipper is defeated, he'll retreat inside his shell giving you access to go inside. Follow the spiral of notes until you reach a large section with two Snippits. You will also find a Jiggy in this section.
7. The highest point of the cove is the lighthouse and one fall from there can do you in. However, it's essential to go there since there's a Jiggy to be earned. Which one of the following moves is not used in the process of getting this Jiggy?

Answer: Rolling Attack

You have to fly off Captain Blubber's ship and go to the small alcove underneath, to the right, the large arch. You then have to use the Beak Barge to break open the door. You go to the top of the lighthouse and you have to use a Shock Jump Pad to get the Jiggy. You will also find the Witch Switch here.

This switch will have a cannon shoot a Jiggy on top of the ship near the entrance to Treasure Trove Cove. Just jump on the cannons and on top of the ship. Kill the red-robed enemy and then grab the Jiggy.
8. Probably the most remembered feature of Treasure Trove Cove is the large sandcastle. However, you can't do anything with it when it's flooded. What is the name of the character that helps you drain the water?

Answer: Leaky

Leaky the Bucket cannot help you until you help him. You need to fill him up by backwards shooting two eggs into him. He will drain the water. Then Feathery Flap to the top of the sand castle and grab the notes. Go inside grab the four notes then Beak Bust tiles to spell "Banjo-Kazooie." Defeat the crab then grab the Jiggy.
9. The sandcastle will be revisited several times for cheats that you may find lying around Grunty's lair. Besides these cheats though, there are other cheats released in "Nintendo Power." Which one of these phrases is not a cheat?

Answer: The Golden Glow to Protect Banjo

You have to type a certain word before entering the phrase in order to activate these cheats. Once you activate that word, type in the phrase and you get the effect of it. The phrase, "Give the Bear Lots of Air," lets Banjo breathe underwater without having to worry about air.

This code would be useful in worlds such as Clanker's Cavern and Rusty Bucket Bay. The correct code for unlimited gold feathers is "A Golden Glow to Protect Banjo," which would be useful in Mad Monster Mansion to destroy the ghosts and skeletons.
10. What object serves as the entrance to Treasure Trove Cove?

Answer: treasure chest

You have to use a Flap Flip jump to gain entry into this world. When you leave Treasure Trove Cove you'll be encountered by a Snippit that snuck out. After playing in every world an enemy from that world escapes and causes you problems. Treasure Trove Cove is completed but you're still a long way from rescuing Tooty. Our next adventure will have a giant talking trash disposal unit asking for the help of the bear and bird.
