Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As usual, there are plenty of easter-eggs and pop culture references in this set of levels. The first one, "It's Impossible", packs a load of them. Which of the following movies or TV series isn't referenced in this level?

Answer: M*A*S*H

Pretty much the whole level references "Mission: Impossible", including a small tape recorder that self-destructs when you play it.
Near the end of the level, you go through a series of doors that lead to a phone booth you can use as an elevator, just like the intro of "Get Smart".
"War of the Worlds" is referenced in the side of a box in a small storage room. It's kinda hidden, unlike the others.
2. Which of the following is NOT true regarding the Alien Drone, one of the new enemies introduced in the episode?

Answer: Cannot be frozen

These guys are fearsome adversaries. Besides all of the aforementioned, they are lightning fast (even underwater), can leap quite high and far, deal severe damage with their claws, even at a distance, and to make it worse, they have their own shrinking ray!
3. At the end of "Duke-Burger", the player discovers that the burgers are made out of what?

Answer: Dogs

The restaurant is connected to the "SPCH", which stands for "Society for the Preparation of Canine Hamburgers", a pun on the "SPCA".
4. In the level "Pigsty", which takes place in a police station, you can come across desks with name tags from famous fictional characters. Which of the following is not one of them?

Answer: S. Holmes

When approaching Callahan and Mc Clain's desks, Duke will deliver their famous one-liners from the respective movies. As for Dredd's desk, you can find it right by the secret exit, with no one-liner being played.
5. The level "Going Postal", among others, features some "Wanted" pictures of a famous murderer, somehow related to the level's name. Who is he?

Answer: The Unabomber

In a later level, you can go into what seems to be his apartment, where you'll find yet another picture of him and a defused pipebomb lying on a table.
6. In the level "Critical Mass", which takes place in a nuclear facility that's going through a meltdown, there is a small secret room with a sign that reads "Sector 7-G". What does this reference mean?

Answer: It is the name of the sector where Homer Simpson works in the Springfield Power Plant

It doesn't say so specifically, but the room contains an arc-shaped keyboard pad, just like the one Homer uses, and several boxes of donuts, Homer's favorite snacks. It would have been cool if Duke would throw a one-liner from the show!
7. The other new enemy featured in this episode is actually a Tank driven by a Pig Cop. They can attack you with any of the following weapons, except which of these?

Answer: Homing missiles

Their weapon of choice will depend on how close or far you are to them. At close range, they will shoot their machine guns. At mid-range, they'll launch the same type of explosive used by the Battlelords. When you're very far, they'll unleash a barrage of fireballs similar to the ones used by the Assault Troopers and Captains, only in a greater number and dealing much more damage.
8. The only secret level of the episode is named after a famous US military facility located in the southern part of Nevada, mostly known for UFO research. What is it?

Answer: Area 51

A great secret level, it contains a lot of references, including a secret area with a small pond and the sign "Groom Lake", which contains a submerged UFO.
9. The episode's boss is the Alien Queen. The fight against her is quite unique in many aspects. Which of the following is NOT true?

Answer: You can't inflict direct damage to her; instead you weaken her by killing her offspring

I'd say that the Queen is the hardest boss battle in the game. Dealing with the reduced speed and mobility while underwater, and the limited oxygen supply, just adds to the difficulty of the battle. As said in the options, the Queen can give birth to Alien Drones every now and then, and we already know how tough is it to fight them. Her main attack consists on an electric shock, which obviously hurts you anywhere you are since it's a water environment.
Other than all that, you just have to fire away at her until she dies, just like every other boss.
10. The only new weapon you get to use in this episode is the Microwave Expander, a special version of the Shrinker. After a set number of hits, the weapon causes the enemies to grow larger and then explode. Is it possible for Duke to kill himself by using it?

Answer: Yes

The enemies' body explosion has quite a big blast radius, and causes massive damage if you're not far enough.
