Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The primary character of the "Deadly Rooms of Death" series is a smitemaster named Beethro. What's his last name?

Answer: Budkin

A smitemaster is an expert dungeon exterminator. In the series, Beethro Budkin must exterminate creatures such as roaches, evil eyes, serpents and goblins, using a wide variety of elements that are at his disposal.
2. In the original game, what dungeon is Beethro exterminating?

Answer: King Dugan's Dungeon

King Dugan's Dungeon is 25 levels long and has 350 rooms, many of which are very difficult!

Each level tends to focus on a particular monster or element. For example, level 2 focuses on roach queens, while level 8 is focused on the Living Tar.
3. For "DROD: Architect's Edition", what feature was introduced into the game?

Answer: Level editor

The level editor allows you to create your own levels, which you can then freely distribute to other players for them to play. With the large amount of elements to choose from, there are billions of possibilities!

In the "Deadly Rooms of Death" universe, a group of levels is called a "hold" and a person who creates holds is called an "architect".
4. In which of these ways can you kill a serpent in "The City Beneath"?

Answer: Lead it into a dead end

The dead end can be made up of almost anything, including other monsters. When the serpent is in a dead end, its tail shortens by one tile each turn. Once the tail fully disappears, the serpent dies.

In "The City Beneath", there are two additional types of snakes that can be used. The rattlesnake, which was introduced in "Journey to Rooted Hold", can be killed by repeatedly stabbing its tail. The adder, which was introduced in "The City Beneath", can be killed by repeatedly stabbing its head.

Alternatively, serpents, adders and rattlesnakes can all be killed by blowing them up with a bomb.
5. Which slayer chases Beethro in "Journey to Rooted Hold"?

Answer: 39th Slayer

The Slayer has been hired to stop Beethro from entering the Empire.

The Slayer uses a hook, which has similar properties to Beethro's sword. He is highly intelligent, using a wisp to track Beethro. Once the wisp finds Beethro, the Slayer will begin to move towards Beethro, trying to kill him.

Unlike Beethro, the Slayer can step on most creatures to kill it.
6. What does an orb do?

Answer: Open, close or toggle yellow doors

Red doors toggle when all trapdoors in a room are cleared. Green doors toggle when all monsters in a room are cleared. Black doors toggle when all tar, mud and gel blobs in a room are destroyed. Blue doors toggle when all required rooms on a level are cleared.
7. This relative of Beethro accompanies Beethro during "Journey to Rooted Hold". What's his name?

Answer: Halph

Halph is Beethro's nephew. Halph's primary use is to open and close doors that Beethro can't reach.

Halph can be highly useful, as monsters are not attracted to him. This can allow him to safely travel in areas that are completely swarmed with monsters.
8. What is the name of Beethro's grandfather?

Answer: Gunthro

Gunthro, a smitemaster, is featured in the game "Gunthro and the Epic Blunder". He has the same abilities as Beethro does.
9. What is the name of the sword that Beethro uses?

Answer: Really Big Sword

The Really Big Sword is metallic, meaning that Beethro cannot use it when he is standing on oremites, which are capable of "eating" metal. The sword is capable of cutting through almost any monster Beethro will encounter.
10. What is the name of the official hold packaged with "DROD: RPG"?

Answer: Tendry's Tale

The game is significantly different from its predecessors. The room sizes are significantly smaller, and many RPG-like elements were added, such as keys, health, attack, defense and greckles (a currency). Unlike other games in the series, rooms do not reset back to their original position when you leave.
