Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which one of Mog's dances cannot be acquired in the World of Ruin?

Answer: Water Rondo

Mog can only get the Water Rondo by going through the Serpent's Trench in the World of Balance. Your party does not fight underwater anywhere in the World of Ruin.
2. Strago can only learn lores from enemies in the SNES version of "Final Fantasy VI"?

Answer: False

Strago will learn Level 5 Doom if Setzer uses Joker Doom while he is in your party. Joker Doom is considered to be the same as Level 5 Doom by the game. The only difference is that it works on all enemies in the game.
3. How many Espers teach Fire 3?

Answer: Two

Both Tritoch and Phoenix teach Fire 3. Terra learns Fire 3 without Espers at Level 43. Gogo will also be able to cast Fire 3 if this has occurred and he is in the same party as Terra.
4. A character in the front row that is equipped with the Excalibur is berzerked. That character is not equipped with the Offering, the Gauntlet, a Hero Ring, an Atlas Armlet, or the Genji Glove. They are not morphed. They are also critically hitting an enemy that is in the front row and weak against Pearl-elemental attacks. By what percentage will the damage of their attack be increased?

Answer: 400%

In this game, the value of the damage divided by two multiplied by a damage multiplier is added to the initial damage in one step of the damage algorithm. This multiplier is normally zero, but the Berzerk status adds 1 to the multiplier and a critical hit adds 2 to the same multiplier.

In this situation, the multiplier will be 3 and 150% of the normal damage will first be added to the damage done by the attack, causing the damage to be 250% of the initial damage. In a later step this value will by multiplied by two due to the fact that an elemental weakness was hit.

This will cause the damage that is done to be 500% of the normal amount, or a 400% increase from the normal amount.
5. Which of these relics would increase the damage of Sabin's Bum Rush the most?

Answer: an Earring

Bum Rush is considered to be a magical attack by the game. An earring would increase its damage by 25%, while the other three relics would not increase its damage at all.
6. In the SNES version, how many of the possible final characters can use a water elemental attack without being equipped with either an esper or the merit award?

Answer: Fourteen

Mog and Edgar can equip the Trident. Shadow and Gogo can throw the Trident or the Water Edge. Strago and Gogo are capable of using the Aqua Rake and Clean Sweep Rages. Setzer and anyone with the item command can use magicite to attack with Bismarck. Umaro cannot use the item command. Kutan can replace Celes in your party if you use the Kutan glitch.
7. Which fictional relic would increase the damage done by a character over a 25 second period the least?

Answer: a relic that increases speed by 230

A relic that increases speed by 230 would increase a character's damage the least. It would actually decrease the speed and thus the damage over time of a character due to the way the ATB algorithm works. The maximum speed that is allowed is 255. In part of this algorithm, 20 is added to the value for speed.

This value can only be stored on one byte, which causes a speed of over 235 to overflow and be reduced to 235 subtracted from that speed. The base speed of every character in the game is above 5.
8. What is the maximum amount of damage that can be done to a petrified character with one hit without using the Dice, the Fixed Dice, or Flare Star?

Answer: 1

If a petrified character is hit with the Atma Weapon by a character using the fight command, 1 damage will be done to that character. This is due to the fact that the Atma Weapon uses a special damage algorithm that adds 1 to the amount of damage done after every other part of the normal damage algorithm is calculated.
9. How many enemies can Locke steal from in one turn?

Answer: Two

If Locke casts Quick, he can steal or capture from two enemies in one turn. Combining Capture or the Thiefknife with the Offering causes a bug where steals from multiple enemies are reported, but only one item is added to the party's inventory. Locke is then not able to steal again from the enemies that the phony steals were reported from. Combining the Thiefknife with the Dragonboots and Dragon Horn causes the same bug.
10. In the SNES version of "Final Fantasy VI", which enemies can do double their normal damage on a physical attack that is not critical by casting a lore?

Answer: Reach Frog

A Reach Frog will receive the morph status from Terra if it casts Rippler on her while she is morphed. Rippler causes all of the statuses that are on the caster to be exchanged with the statuses that are on the target. Interceptor is considered to be a status, and the use of Rippler by Strago or Gogo can cause Interceptor to be transferred to other characters in the party.

Interceptor can be permanently lost if a Reach Frog casts Rippler on Shadow and it is killed by the party before anyone in it can cast Rippler on that Reach Frog. Morph status will double the damage of all of its attacks.
